Yarra Bend Park
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Open until 11:59 PM

Yarra Bend Rd, Fairfield VIC 3078, Australia

“I honestly love this park, it's close enough to the city, yet it's rugged enough to encourage wildlife, and there's some great walks around the banks of the Yarra. There's an abundance of wildlife if you look for it. Eastern Bearded Dragons, snakes, fishing birds, black cockatoos (usually before rain), spiders etc. If you like your flowers there's plenty of those, too. It's come something for everyone. Places to relax, cycling, parks for the kids and walking tracks. The best tracks line the Yarra, but they aren't accessible for everyone, with steep, rocky faces in places. You cam cycle some of the tracks, but there are very steep faces and I've had to pull someone up before on an e-bike. I fell once myself and was lucky I never ended up in the Yarra. It's a fun park, though. There's currently renovations to too areas. It's getting more changes, and it will be more accessible from the Abbotsford side and Richmond side in the future. It's pretty accessible from the in most places, but check the website and stick to the paths. Sensitive wildlife and flowers are all over this park.”

Forrest Caves
4.6
( 16 reviews )

Bass Strait, Phillip Island Rd, Newhaven VIC 3922, Australia

“The Forrest Caves is an awesome visit I always go past when traveling to Philip Island. Depending on where the tide is you can get a completely different experience to. Sometimes the whole cave is filled with water and you can walk ontop of it watching water splash up, other times it is dry and you can walk through it. Very interesting to check out. The sand on the beach there is also pretty squeaky so try that out for some extra fun!”

Churchill National Park
4.5
( 10 reviews )

Army Track, Lysterfield South VIC 3156, Australia

“Hiked the Kangaroo Trail and connected to the ridge trail. Hiked ~3 miles within an hour. Saw 3 kangaroos and a wallaby! We weren’t sure if we would see kangaroos but they happened to be on the path and quickly scurried away. Fun and easy hike- would recommend!”

Canyon Walk
4.7
( 10 reviews )

8 Star Rd, Bright VIC 3741, Australia

“Absolutely beautiful, relaxing, serene walking trail, easy grade, and the walking trail is all the way along the Ovens river. The sounds of the flowing river is soothing and pleasant. If you look around, you can spot some pretty and interesting plants, flowers and even little fuzzy crawlies. Loved this trail.”

Flinders Blowhole
4.6
( 16 reviews )

Flinders VIC 3929, Australia

“Beautiful spot. Definitely recommend taking a look. There are some steep steps which may be difficult for the elderly. However, there is a viewing platform at the carpark which has a great view of the overall area and does not require any access via stairs.”

Olinda Falls
4.2
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 10:00 AM

Doughtys Rd, Olinda VIC 3788, Australia

“Lovely falls to visit. Steep walk at 45 degrees each way. Wide path and only 300m from the car park. (But you do have to walk back up!) Toilet is currently closed as is the walk to the base of the falls. Can easily access the viewing platform though. Some slippery areas. I wouldn't recommend it for wheelchairs or anyone with limited mobility. A sturdy pram should be fine, but path does narrow closer to the falls so single width only.”

Kinglake National Park
4.5
( 8 reviews )

Masons Falls Rd, Kinglake West VIC 3757, Australia

“Lovely easy 4km walk to Mason Falls from lower Mason's Falls carpark. Easy access to short circuit walks. Beautiful fungi species, mosses, tiny wildflowers. Recommended on a weekday to avoid crowds. Long walks 🚶‍♀️ easily accessible from car parks. The only negative was the toilet amenities, to say the least, were unusable.”

“Slightly rapid river, turns into a bit of a flood plain, okay to look at.”

Sailors Falls Mineral Spring
4.3
( 8 reviews )

Ballan-Daylesford Rd, Sailors Falls VIC 3461, Australia

“Due to floods last year the majority of the area is blocked off due to safety reasons. Hopefully this will be amended soon. One toilet located in the parking area along with some shelter. You can still go for a short walk along the stream but can't get very far. Currently unable to get to the bottom of the waterfall.”

Cheetham Wetlands

“A beautiful location to disconnect from the noise of the city and enjoy quality time in nature. There is an awesome track to explore the area by walking or riding a bicycle.”

French Island National Park
4.3
( 16 reviews )

Takerton Rd, French Island VIC 3921, Australia

“The French Island National Park is mist visit attraction in Victoria. It a short drive from Melbourne. You need to book a ferry ride to reach the French Island. We booked Western Port Ferry which is from Stony Point to Tankerton. It is good to visit there early in the morning so you will have enough time to explore the island. There is a primary school located inside the island. And there are few trails you can take to explore the island. We hired bicycles from FIGS and cycled around the Island. And if you are lucky you will be able to spot few Koalas. And there is a farm inside. Inside that farm many Koalas can spot. And the mom and the boy there will explain you about everything. Don't forget to tip them. And you will see a Chicory Kiln which is an old kiln inside that farm too.”
