Helvellyn
4.9
( 16 reviews )

Keswick CA11 0PU, United Kingdom

“We were blessed with good weather when we climbed. It was an incredible route with lots of places to stop and take in the sights. Quite busy but not as busy as others. We did the 'ridge' section which was a bit daunting but if you take it slow it's absolutely doable. I would definitely recommend and would do it again.”

Catbells

Keswick CA12 5TU, United Kingdom

“Amazing view! Definitely recommend. It’s about a 25-35 min hike up to the first viewpoint and it’s amazing. It’s quite steep so wear proper shoes as not to fall or slip, especially on the way down. The view from the top is really breathtaking.”

Dodd Wood - Forestry England
4.7
( 16 reviews )

Keswick CA12 4QE, United Kingdom

“Pleasant quiet walk overlooking Bassenthwaite and a stately house (entrance fee required) with public footpath to the church. The car park is on the opposite side of the road with a couple of disabled bays chargeable on exit. The terrain to the gate is bumpy for wheelchair users, after that the footpath is a fairly smooth tarmac followed by a gravel lane covered in grass and mud.”

Keswick To Threlkeld Railway Trail
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Fieldside, Keswick CA12 4LL, United Kingdom

“Wonderful walk. A must when in Keswick. Flat, smooth surface. Scenic route. Parking is at the Keswick Leisure Centre, and there's plenty of spaces, we went over Easter weekend and it wasn't too busy, though we went later in the day. As you reach the end there's the option of popping to the coffee shop in Threlkeld (500m up into the pretty village) well, we did, and glad we were too as it was lovely. Then turn back for the return. Took us 3 hours (not including the stop) but we weren't racing. The whole place is a credit to everyone involved in the development and the information as you go along is very informative. It really is a gem and locals should feel proud. Loved it.😊”

Coniston LA21, United Kingdom

“Very popular car park with an ice cream van for refreshment after the walk. Great view. From here, we did the old man of coniston short circular walk. Not cheap though (5pound for 4hrs or 8.50 for up to 24hrs!). Would have been nice to have options for e.g. 5 or 6 hours but unfortunately not. You can pay by card or Ringo app(patchy mobile connection).”

Cautley Spout

A683, Sedbergh LA10 5NE, United Kingdom

“We visited here just over a week ago. It is absolutely beautiful. The scenery is outstanding and is very relaxing. The walk is fairly easy, obviously but of a steeper climb towards the top. It is a 'little piece of heaven'. Would recommend a visit. Parking is roadside. Unfortunately the day we went the pub was closed otherwise looked a nice place for a coffee /drink after your walk.”

Haweswater Reservoir
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Penrith, UK

“Stunning location, a little bit off the beaten track, but well worth the minor roads to get there. Only 6 miles or so from Shap (A6). Take the road adjacent to the reservoir for 4 miles to the car park at the far end (this is where you turn around to come back). Amazing scenery and very peaceful. Will be back at some point (it's been 20 years since my last visit) to take a walk round the reservoir (around 10 miles). Unspoilt and not busy (except for those serious about walking)......dark skies would be incredible.”

Wrynose Pass
4.8
( 10 reviews )

Broughton-in-Furness LA22 9JU, UK

“A good drive, not a difficult drive till you get an inexperienced driver coming the opposite direction who has no idea to reverse into a pocket for passing. Nevertheless, a fantastic experience & a superb view.”

Great Gable

Seascale CA20 1EX, United Kingdom

“Great walk from wasdale carpark. Just have to be careful coming down , there was a lot of loose rocks and stones. Lots of great views would have been even better if there hadn't been any low clouds”

Cockermouth CA13 9XA, United Kingdom

“Amazing! I stayed in the yurts with my brother and dad and we loved it! It was clean comfy and was amazing! The showers and toilets were very clean! (a good tip is that there is extra showers in the bothy)! We had the best time at Crummock …”

Rydal Water
4.8
( 10 reviews )

Ambleside LA22 9HQ, UK

“Easy hike from car park to Rydal Cave and edge of the lake. It took about 2hours with plenty of time for admiring views, drinking coffee and singing in the cave. Quite popular and no wonder why.”

Walla Crag
4.8
( 16 reviews )

Keswick CA12 5UP, United Kingdom

“A fairly manageable walk for beginners until it gets a little more challenging towards the peak due to the rough and steep climbs up, but nothing too crazy! That said, the views are 100% worth it - even though we visited on a cloudy day, the views of the town and surrounding fells from the summit were absolutely stunning. Be sure to wear proper shoes!”

Fairy Steps
4.4
( 16 reviews )

Slack Head, Milnthorpe LA7 7BD, United Kingdom

“Use to come here as a kid, used to live not far from here, love coming back each trip to see how many new coins have been hammered into the 2 money stumps using the local rocks. The fairy steps bring back so many memories, apparently if you make a wish at the bottom, then climb the fairy steps without touching the sides then your wish will come true and you'll meet a fairy. Loved bringing my whole family here (22) adults and kids in August 2023.”
