San Dieguito County Park
4.8
( 8 reviews )

1628 Lomas Santa Fe Dr, Del Mar, CA 92014, United States

“When adults and teens could have their own ‘playground’ a.k.a the sports area, the park is 5 stars for me. Loved the sports area!! But I hope the city will build more courts, as one volleyball and basketball won’t be enough on warmer days. Also, maybe the park would make lower park and upper park connected with cars in the future, it’s gonna be better to enjoy the entire area.”

Blue Sky Ecological Reserve
4.7
( 10 reviews )

16275 Espola Rd, Poway, CA 92064, United States

“Lake Poway's lot was full so we parked here and walked a big loop that covered the lake. Nice hike with trees, greens, and some flowers (thanks to the unusual amount of rain this year I guess). Lot closes at sunset.”

Harry Griffen Park
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 07:00 AM

9550 Milden St, La Mesa, CA 91942, United States

“Plenty of parking, huge park with several playgrounds for kids. It can be a little muddy after the rain. There's an outdoor theater near the gate, not sure if they use it for anything. Again, it's a really big park so very spacious for multiple birthday parties going on at the same time. The Men's restroom needs better maintenance and cleaning. The dog park is also nearby but we didn't go over there. Really appreciate those who kept the leash on the dog, especially next to the playground.”

William Heise County Park
4.7
( 16 reviews )

4945 Heise Park Rd, Julian, CA 92036, United States

“We spent a lovely 3 days tent camping here. The bathrooms were super clean, the rangers were friendly, and the park was clean. Love camping here!”

Border Field State Park Beach
4.4
( 8 reviews )

GVVG+34, Imperial Beach, CA 92154, United States

“Nice under used park with a decent beach, trails, and interesting views of the border wall. The parks currently only open on weekends to cars ($7), but you can park at the entrance and walk to the beach which is about a mile from the entrance. Usually it’s pretty empty including the beach. There is a big area for horse back riding. There’s even a place nearby which will take you out for a ride in the beach. It looked like a fun thing to do. Lots of law enforcement in the area including Border Guards, Sherries deputy’s, and Law enforce the Rangers. I found some of the navy’s trash (manuals) and phosphorus ordinance of some kind. They were a decent size being about a foot long and about 8” around. I thought it was strange that when I reported them to the lady (Ranger)at the entrance she was indifferent. Hopefully they aren’t dangerous.”

Cowles Mountain
4.7
( 8 reviews )

San Diego, CA 92119, United States

“Sunrise this morning. You can see downtown San Diego and Coronado bridge from here. Take your time to walk up if you don’t gets out and do this often. Best time is in early morning and late afternoon to avoid high heat.”

San Elijo Lagoon Nature Center
4.7
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 09:00 AM

2710 Manchester Ave, Cardiff, CA 92007, United States

“This is an excellent informational center adjacent to San Elijo lagoon. There are well maintained and easy trails through the lagoon that allows beautiful views of the marsh and the birds that frequent the area. We were here on a weekday and thus the visitor traffic was minimal. This gave us a very quiet walk in a very peaceful setting. We were able to see a good variety of birds during our one hour midday visit. Had we come earlier and stayed longer I am certain we would have seen even more species. Great birders destination but also excellent for adults and children to see the magic of the marshes.”

Vallecito County Park
4.6
( 8 reviews )

37349 Great Southern Overland Stage Route, Julian, CA 92036, United States

“Usually not crowded. Beautiful desert hikes right from your campsite. Primitive camping. The park ranger is super nice. Stay here and use the hot spring pool at Agua Caliente. Just a relaxing Mellow place.”
