Rosemarkie, Fortrose IV10 8SJ, United Kingdom

“Visited fairy falls, great place to visit parking is free which is brillent, there's 2 waterfalls in total and there beutifull. Trail is really good a few spots there muddy and quite rocky buy perfectly easy if your able to walk to morrisons you can walk here! Great views and well worth it,”

Talisker Bay Beach
4.7
( 8 reviews )

Isle of Skye IV47 8SF, United Kingdom

“We walked there on a rare sunny day during our October visit. There is no parking for the beach, cars park on verges up the road, on the sides… Easy walk on a maintained path to the beach. Beautiful views of the steep hills and waterfalls to the sides and the crashing waves to the sea. The beach is made of large black volcanic rocks, rather than sand or small pebbles. People were attempting to swim, but the waves made things very difficult.”

Balnakeil Beach
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Lairg IV27 4PX, United Kingdom

“Balnakeil Beach was incredible and a must visit when traveling along the North Coast. Once camp was set up at Sango Sands, I went for a quick run down to Balnakeil Beach as the sun was starting to set. It was a picturesque scene, with a sailing boat in the bay, white sandy beach and crystal clear water. This was one of my favourite evenings on the NC500 There is parking nearby along the road and easy access to the beach. The road is single lane in parts but plenty of space to get a van or car down. Tip: Park in Durness and walk to Balnakeil Beach. It's a scenic walk with fantastic surrounding views of the mountains, green fields and the seafront below More photos on @ roam_with_ross”

Creag Meagaidh National Nature Reserve
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Aberarder, Newtonmore PH20 1BX, United Kingdom

“We accidentally came across this place. We wish we had more time to explore it. Stopped here for a wee on the way to glenfinnan. The walks around here looked stunning and the video information board was very informative. Only 1 toilet but free/ free parking and overnight campers accepted with small donation fee.”

Falls Of Measach
4.7
( 16 reviews )

A835, Garve IV23 2PJ, United Kingdom

“We parked at the original car park as it was late in the day and the new visitor centre was closed. A short walk to the Falls and Gorge, unfortunately its midge season, be prepared 🦟 to get bitten, but that's Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 A stunning waterfall and spectacular Gorge. Make your way to the lookout, don't look down if you're afraid of heights.”

Allt Chranaidh Waterfall
4.9
( 16 reviews )

A894, Lairg IV27 4HW, United Kingdom

“Must visit waterfall: not much parking space near by , but we have managed to park 4 cars near to the waterfall. Make sure you have good pair of shoes for off-road experience. Very slippery and muddy depends on the weather. Very irritating-flies around the waterfall so make sure you have packed some repellent sprays. The view is stunning, you will not regret 15mins adventurous walk.”

The Bone Caves
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Tain, Lairg IV27 4HL, United Kingdom

“Wow! An 8k round walk to see the Bone Caves, worth every step 👣 A decent size car park, keep your eyes peeled, the small sign is easy to miss. I would recommend walking shoes 👞 As you would expect the terrain is uneven, a beautiful walk past waterfalls, and the river, leads to the stunning mountain ⛰️ scenery. A steep climb to the Caves but manageable 🚶‍♀️We were alone and felt like the top of the world!”
