“The setting of the hotel in the river is fantastic and like almost everywhere in Thailand the staff is very friendly, but relaxing on the private (sun) deck connected to the room is impossible. Due to the connection of the deck to the room everything shakes back and forth quite a bit when a boat passes by (and that is every 3-4 minutes). This must and can be improved.”

“Pros: - Staff. Very helpful at the reception and helped with booking nearby attractions. The room cleaning was very good and the staff helped with moving the heavy suitcases. - Room was very pleasant and include a private balcony with a bathtub, drying rack and beautiful view. Bathroom was very modern and the bed was comfortable. - Amenities were nice including free paddle boarding and kayaking during high-tide. It is nice as the beach is not very busy. - Value. For the price, the resort is amazing. There is also very affordable food at the restaurant adjacent. If you are on a very tight budget you can order food via grab delivery. Cons: - The sink only had one tap with no hot water. This is unpleasant for shaving. - Hand soap has a very very strong banana scent. Perhaps due to the name 'blu monkey' however it was a little unpleasant. - The resort is very far away from everything else of the island. It is far from the airport and other tourist attractions, leading to longer travel times and more expensive transport. We also had difficulty getting transportation to/from the resort as grab, indrive and bolt were unreliable however this may be attributable to the islands taxi-mafia and not the fault of the resort.”

“Booked a suite in Castillo Della Valle but on the ground floor facing the car park with no view and privacy charging the same as other suites upstairs. How would any hotel have rooms on ground floor in the first place?!Guess it is a holiday property that is intended for sale but no one buys, then converted to a “luxury” hotel. The whole resort is more suitable for local Thai customers but is very challenging for non Thai speaking visitors. It’s a big resort. If you don’t have a car, it is not very convenient to get around by relying on the shuttle services.”

“I spent couple of nights in this very noisy hotel with a band just downstairs playing everyday until 11:30pm.... so if we are willing to rest and having a quiet trip avoid this place... food is ok nothing more.... a bit expensive for the quality and quantity... the only positive aspect is the localisation right on beach... staff are not really well trained and speak little English.... almost a problem for 4* hotels.... rooms are large but old despite the beautifull pictures on website... à refresh will be welcome for the price paid. Nice trick for the Web designer. A bit desapointing!!! Wifi coverage is weak and frequently down.”

“I hate giving negative reviews but I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all. Booked it based on reviews but it just wasn’t to my tastes. Check in - was clumsy and just not very smooth at all. The room - getting to it was the biggest issue. The hotel has 3 buildings and you need to take 3 elevators and 2 walkways to get to building C. It really took ages. And the room itself was just bland and soulless. The beds were good. But the towels were pitifully thin. Location - the worst part. The hotel is over a km from the beach. Knew this beforehand but thought there was a shortcut walk. There isn’t! So it’s a long walk or wait for a taxi. Communal areas - boiling hot with no aircon anywhere. It was stifling. Felt sorry for the staff. Breakfast - was a high point. Breakfast is really good and plenty of choice. Restaurant - ate in the restaurant when a monsoon hit. Food was really good, service was good, and good value for hotel food. Finally, lasted one night and checked out to move elsewhere. Think that says it all. Sorry Hotel IKON but just not good enough.”

“Booked a room for 2 nights and it was overpriced as per the rooms.Ir costed me Rs 18,000 as it was booked last minute for 3/2-5/2/2024. I think it is due to the season although the rooms and toilet are clean.The room is spacious for 2 people. The buffet breakfast menu was same always only 1-2 item change. 2 bottles per day are provided and the water is not free.The location is very good and lively,very near to Bangla Market”

“Checked in and checked out 4 hours later. The room was in a miserable condition, there was a pungent smell in the room. The fittings were all! Extremely loose. You couldn't even turn on the "bathtub" on the balcony because the switch turned completely. When we reported our problems to the manager at the reception, they didn't acknowledge anything and discussed it with me for a long time and in a very disrespectful manner. The bathroom is a dark hole and the water from the shower smelled.”
