“This hotel is in a small town, but it definitely does not have a small town feel. It has many things to do in the hotel to keep you satisfied and busy. The food has been 5 star so far, and the owner present and accommodating. I've read a book on my balcony with a beautiful view of the mountains. Later, I'll take a swim in the indoor pool and spa, or maybe the sauna. Tonight I plan on beating my wife in a game of table tennis! We've had drinks at their well stocked bar with locals and guests alike. Service by all the wait staff has been impeccable. Even though some only speak small amounts of English, which I know can make one uncomfortable, they remain eager as ever to help. Rooms are great and clean. The desk will even book things for you, if needed. We'll be making a trip to Venice in a few days. There's great skiing close, the ski bus drops off right in front of the hotel. No reason at all to not make a repeat visit! 5 stars all around!”

Special highlight was the fact that you could order the food from the restaurant and have it delivered to the chalet (which was very practical as we have a 7 months old). The hotel staff was nice, professional and helpful. We had hotel breakfasts during our stay. They were tasty with good choice of local products, sweets and Italian coffee served. I need to appreciate the deepest respect for the gentleman working in the restaurant during breakfasts. He was so kind, polite, and smiling that meeting him was a great start of each day. We have also visited hotel restaurant for lunch. They serve a great pizza but be sure to try their pasta or other local dishes - these are great! Recommend!”

“The hiking trail from the Plantplatschhütte to the Sesvennahütte is a dream. Brilliant view and wonderful peace. When you arrive at the Sesvennahütte you are immediately greeted with a Willi. The facility is well equipped for a refuge, some with a toilet and shower in the room. In the evening there was a 4-course menu with barley soup, lasagna, schnitzel with vegetables and pudding for dessert. The food and service was excellent. The breakfast was perfectly fine.”

“I discovered the gorgious location of the Lichtenstern belvedere 5 years ago when I came for the first time in the Renon plateau. I fell in love with the view and the position of Lichtenstern within the wide natural environment of woods and green fields. So when after 3 years I decided to return to Renon for a 2 weeks vacation my choice was immediate: the Lichenster Hotel. In the meantime the traditional shape of the hotel had been deeply redesigned. I was fascineted by its courageous transformation just watching the online images and when I arrived I was confirmed in my judgment by the experience in the large new room I was put in. All the rest of my experience was at the best of my expectetions: excellent food, top quality service by all the staff members (I was enchanted particularly by Erika whose singing voice and warm attitudes welcomes the clients making them to feel immediately at home). Finally I must recognice the admiration I developed for the Hohenneger family, the owners of this jewell. It is absolutely notable the passion that allowed the members of this family to improve consistenly through the years their enterprise, since 1954, adding new facilities up to the contemporary requirements of a first class hotellerie still maintaining alive its identity. “Eat: The staff in the dining room is very attentive and equally discreet.👌 The breakfast buffet and the evening menu are of very good quality, as long as you don't resort to the alternatives shown on the back of the menu. If you make this mistake, you will face the chef's curse. In my daughter's case (she doesn't like lamb and there was no choice that day) broccoli was cooked with cauliflower in unseasoned water and slapped onto the plate. Plus a breaded schnitzel, no sauce, no other side dish. Thanks to Maggi, it would have been at least spicier in any motorway rest stop, if not better. 🙈 It is incomprehensible why an otherwise very capable chef should not be able to present an alternative dish offered in this way. Room: When we arrived, we were assigned a room without a refrigerator and in a 70s style (see photo) with a supposed mountain view that is actually a parking garage view. This room was actually relatively cheap when we booked it, but why was not communicated. In my opinion, it should have been correctly pointed out that this room does not even correspond to a 3-star category. I can only accept the argument of being able to use the sauna and pool area as well as the food in a 4 and 5 star hotel if there is appropriate prior transparency. Only then can I decide whether I am satisfied with such a room in view of the possibility of using other luxuries. We were finally able to exchange the room for a slightly higher quality one in the basement for the same price. General: Otherwise, the facility is highly recommended, especially because of the possibility of using the sister hotels, which really leave nothing to be desired. For families with smaller children, I would recommend the Andreus, as there is no paddling pool in the Sonnenalm and only a rather carelessly designed mini playground. For adults or older children, however, the Sonnenalm offers a pleasant, family atmosphere with very good (star) cuisine (as long as you don't deviate from the daily menu 😉), a Finnish and a bio sauna as well as an indoor and outdoor pool, fitness room, bicycles for rent, etc .. Overall recommended.”
