“It's close to Nederland, so for me , it's a great location with reasonable distance. From here to Koln is like an hour drive so besides camping life, I could also go to the city for shopping and get a nice dinner. Service of the camping is great, the owner Gereon is a very nice man. 👍🏻 here u can also get what u need , supermarket is close by the camping and dog friendly!!! Restaurant on site is also nice and not expensive! For my stay, I have reserved an incredible caravan next to the river, which is very chill and quiet! Highly recommended!! I would like to visit here again.”

“This was a great location. They have two buildings and maybe more with rooms. We were in the apartments in the back building. There was plenty of space and it was very comfortable. I can imagine the summer months this is a fantastic location with several pools and spa facilities as well . The dining was fantastic with assigned tables for the guests. The food was very good”

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Wellem. Overall the rooms were clean, the cleaning and hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The built in closets were great for quick organizing and the kitchen had everything you'd need. The room coffee system was fantastic and was refilled daily :D. Walking distance to the Christmas market, museums, and local restaurants. The only issue we had was with the quick grab pantry being closed, there was no way to get a quick snack if you needed something outside of the kitchen hours, which were limited. They do have restaurants, but there were not all "in" the building and lacked kid friendly foods. I also needed to use the business center that did not exist. The hotel did have a standing desk area with a computer (only), and could print if needed. Not a deal breaker, but helpful to know if you need to work while there. If in the area, I will stay here again based on the location of the hotel and the accommodating staff. “We did not have a booking and called last minute. The Manager Michael was extremely accommodating. The Hotel rooms were very nice and the beds and pillows soft and comfortable . The rooms had heaters in the bathrooms which came in handy. The Resturant food was excellent and breakfast buffet was good. Would have like some fish options with breakfast ie salmon maybe this is something to consider. My husband was also accommodated with gluten free bread. The staff were very warm and welcoming . I would highly recommend this hotel . We will be back next year !”

“This week we spent a week in a Ferienwohnung at Birkenhof for the second time. It's a perfect place for a vacation with kids. They can feed the animals, ride ponies and play in the indoor playroom. The breadservice is really convenient. Holthausen is located in the middle of the Hoch Sauerland, providing a lot of opportunity for hiking.
