There were technical problems with two of the outdoor pools, which staff apologised for and actually gave us a voucher to be able to come back again. In total, very good customer service! “During a recent stay at Smådalarö Gård, my experience was a mixed bag of delights and disappointments. The establishment, despite its relatively modern construction, exudes a cozy atmosphere, a pleasant surprise that adds to its charm. The main building houses fine and well-appointed hotel rooms, ensuring a comfortable stay. The gastronomic experience, however, had its ups and downs. The breakfast was a high point, offering a range of delicious options. On the flip side, the main courses in the Christmas menu left something to be desired, with a somewhat burnt aftertaste that didn't quite hit the mark. The absence of a traditional Swedish julbord during the holiday season was a puzzling omission, especially given the premium pricing of their Christmas package. Speaking of pricing, the overall cost felt steep considering the overall experience. It felt somewhat penny-wise and pound-foolish to charge extra for certain items within an already pricey holiday package. A more inclusive pricing strategy might have left a better impression. The beverage ticket system was another area of contention. The lack of flexibility in the bar choices was a letdown, contributing to an overall feeling of restricted value. On a positive note, the staff were amiable and professional, adding a welcoming touch to the stay. The spa facilities were commendable, offering excellent treatments, although the limited pool hours for children (only until 11:00 AM) could be reconsidered to be more family-friendly. In conclusion, Smådalarö Gård has the potential to be a top-notch destination, but it is somewhat hindered by what appears to be a penny-pinching approach, especially noticeable during the Christmas season. Leaving after a two-day stay, I felt that the experience could have been significantly better. I'm intrigued to see if the summer season offers a different vibe and am open to revisiting in a year or two, hoping for improvements. The foundation for excellence is there; it just needs a few adjustments to truly shine.”

“Nice place with nice service. Outside environment and view was great. Outside hot spa was very relaxing and not too much people there. Would have appreciated a sign reminding visitors not to take too much photos as at one point there was like a full movie shoot there. Rooms were a disappointment considering a price of 3300. Clean and everything but really small. Beds were comfortable but also a bit small. Outside areas were walkable most of the time (winter) but when we went to the breakfast we had to walk trough snowy stairs. Food was good and staff friendly, especially the lady taking the orders.”

No A/C so ask for a fan in the reception if it is hot outside, as well as the opener for the window. Ping pong table in the lobby was a nice touch.”

“If you enjoy quietude and being close to nature with comfortable accommodation, this is the place to come. The bed and breakfast is great. The rooms, including the common toilets are very clean and well maintained, without being luxurious. Plan your travel so that you catch the boat ferry which have specific timings from Stockholm. The breakfast menu is sumptuous. Suggest that Vegan choices be made part of the menu. The people serving breakfast are a little unfriendly. A smile doesn't cost anything!. There is free WiFi, and 24 hour hot water in the toilets. It's windy and cold at night even during the summer months, so carry warm clothing with you. All in all, we had a wonderful, unforgettable two night stay in May 2023. 🏞️🏝️🌈🌄🌝”

“It's full of temporary workers from other countries, rooms are not too bad, there is a small fridge and microwave and oven inside rooms, there is no human receptionist, all are digital, bed sheets might not be clean, overall it's not good for long stays but somehow okay for few days. There is gym in the first floor and Willy's to buy groceries in 5 min walk distance”
