“I can only speak to the quality of the service and food as I have never stayed in the hotel. Previously (I believe under a different manager) if you attended the Sunday Carvery there was free children's entertainment provided - this is no longer the case. The food is still of a good quality but the addition of the children's entertainment was a significant draw as well. The bar food offering is excellent as well (including the constant top class service of F). There are a lot of young staff, great to see people getting a start/chance but I feel a little time could be invested in the training of these new starts - it would be to the benefit of the hotel and the wider industry. All in all a decent hotel.”

The spa pool, hot tub and relaxation areas make the experience a hut in any weather. We were so lucky on a sunny day visit we were able to use all the facilities. Spa treatments were amazingly good. The staff are so welcoming and would go above and beyond to make sure you have a pleasant stay. The whirlpool was absolutely amazing with little lights that lit up the forest. The projector was great for watching movies and the bed was super comfy. Felt completely at home with peacocks as neighbours. Will definitely be back!”

“Huge site with mainly static caravans, but there are still over 100 excellent, level, concrete pitches for touring vans. All have electricity and most have also a tap and a drain for grey water. Touring pitches are large and offset, so nobody is looking directly into the van in front or behind. The site is well kept, and the facilities block is kept clean and tidy. You get a key to access the toilets and showers for which you pay a £2 refundable deposit. In the ladies, there were approx 6 toilets, and I think 4 showers. You have to pay 20p for a shower, which would have been helpful to know when we checked in as it's a long walk to reception if you don't happen to have 20p. Same to use the hairdryer. As far as we could see, there is only 1 area where rubbish can be left so, if you're in a touring van it's an awfully long walk. There is a playground for children and large grassy areas for games. It's an ideal place for families. There is also a gate that will lead you over the sand dunes onto Benone beach which is absolutely beautiful. We are a retired couple so found the campsite a little crowded for our tastes. A little more information on check-in, such as a site map, would be helpful.”

“If I could give more than five stars I would. This hotel was amazing! The staff- Nicola, Sarah, and Thomas were wonderful! They were so attentive, friendly, and kind. From the moment we stepped into the place we felt so welcome, almost like being with family. Our room was perfect- quaint and cozy with a beautiful view of the Mourn Mountains. The location was fabulous- close walk to anything in town and right across from the sea. We had breakfast once and lunch once during our stay- both were very good. Great service and delicious food. If you are looking for the perfect place to stay while you are in Newcastle, look no further!”
