“Rooms very romantic and the entire building tastefully decorated. The sheets are unbelievably soft and comfortable. The rooms can be a little cluttered with too many chairs. Bathrooms and showers were a bit small especially counter space but adequate for one or two nights. Each night there were both red and white wines during social hour or your choice of coffee or tea along with hors d'oeuvres. All during the day there was an ample supply of hot drinks plus a coffee cake from local shops. If you have difficulty walking or doing stairs recommend that you reserve a room with a bed and whirlpool tub all on the same level.”

“This is such a lovely hotel. I have stayed there twice and loved it both times. Seeing the 3-star hotel rating is surprising. This is much nicer than other 3-star hotels, including the Quality Inn down the road a bit....and it doesn't cost much more. Plus, their continental breakfast is actually a wonderful full breakfast! The restaurant was closed when we visited but they allowed us to bring a pizza in to the bar, which was lively and has a great view of the bay.”

“There are train tracks very close, but we didn't hear any horns or whistles. The cabin was clean, bathrooms were decent, and the pool/splash pad was awesome! I don't have young kids but I could tell it was a great place for young ones. They had Campfire Kevin playing guitar singing camp songs and offering free s'mores. I roasted a marshmallow and really enjoyed the cuteness of it all.”

“My husband and I stayed at the Ashbrooke for the first time for 3 nights in July (2023). We loved our beautiful suite with a fireplace, comfortable bed, large bathroom and wet bar. We also enjoyed the tranquil setting. In October, my girlfriends and I stayed three nights. My friends loved it, too. The front desk staff were very accommodating and welcoming. This is a lovely hotel for peace and quiet.”

“This was our first year using a time share we privately purchased. We were greeted pleasantly at check-in and provided keys and other information. These rooms are clean and are fairly well stocked with the essentials. The toaster wasn't great, and the coffee pot was full of grounds, but not a big deal. Furniture was comfortable, and decor was cabin style. Bed was comfortable, too. Actually, had maintenance in to correct issue reported by prior occupant. Nothing could detract from the beautiful surroundings. Lots of wildlife. There are boat docks available as well as boat, canoe & kayak rentals. Fire pits and grills are also available. Fishing was good but poor according to the regulars. Hiking and walking trails, too. Looking forward to our next visit.”

But, it is only 4.5 stars for one reason...the upstairs bed was rather lumpy and uncomfortable. The outdoor stairs and deck could use some paint or updating as well.”

“Beds are comfortable, linens or white and clean. Lots of towels, room was big enough bathroom very small. To me a suite should have a bedroom with a separate bath. Carpet needs replaced but price was okay 160 something for the night. Staff was great, breakfast was fabulous they even have 2 drinks of choice and snacks from 5:30 to 7 free of charge. I would stay again”

“I enjoyed my two night stay at Country Villa Motel in mid October 2023. The coffee in the room was delicious. Each room has different decor, at least the two rooms I stayed in and according to photos I have seen online. I was initially only going to stay one night, checked out the next morning, but later that day I decided to stay a second night and made reservations for the second night. Both nights were quiet and peaceful. I slept well in the comfortable beds. Rooms are clean and well maintained. I also enjoyed the pizza and cheese curds I had at Bresina's Hometown Bar and Grill nearby Country Villa Motel. I will likely stay at Country Villa Motel again, if/when I am in the area again.”

“Great little inn! Split the spinnaker suite with friends and came out quite affordable. The communal kitchen/dining area was great to make dinner in and the location being close to the parks meant lots of hiking and star gazing. The only complaint I had was the door played a short but fairly loud tune whenever it locked, which meant entering/exiting with other people sleeping was a little difficult.”

“I had high hopes for our meal at seven acres but unfortunately I left disappointed. Our hostess was nice and we were seated fairly quick. During the few times we actually saw our waiter he was nice but seemed more preoccupied with other things. Ordered cheese curds as an appetizer and they seemed a tad overdone to the point of crispy breading with overcooked cheese. I ordered the butter basted steak and my wife ordered the salmon, nearly an hour later our food showed up despite not being overly busy. For the price of the steak i expected a good cut as it didn’t specify exactly what cut I was getting, which it may have been a good cut but the steak ended up being very chewy and was cool when it showed up despite having a salt and too heavily peppered crust, the butter never did attempt to melt that was on top of it. My wife said her salmon was good. In hopes of salvaging the dinner we got desert, apple crisp and I believe some type of brownie which were both very good. I don’t like ragging on any business but overall I was less than happy with the $160 I spent on food and 3 drinks. But the lack of professionalism of the kitchen staff is why I won’t go back there. As we were sitting at the chefs table we saw multiple times the head chef rub his face and beard then immediately touch food without washing his hands, which was incredibly off putting. Overall it seemed like people on the kitchen staff didn’t want to be there or maybe just didn’t care which may have reflected on the quality and presentation of the food. I don’t know if this was a fluke or this is standard practice, either way I won’t be coming back to find out.”
