“My husband and I spent 4 nights here in early September while visiting the Swiss Alps. We really enjoyed our stay and thought the staff and amenities all exceeded our expectations. The hotel is situated up a large hill approximately 3 minutes walk from Grindelwald first. We pushed our luggage up the hill but alternatively could have contacted the hotel for a van. I would say that it could be difficult for a person with mobility issues to reach this hotel day in and day out given the large hill/staircase. The view from our room was amazing and it was a feat to wake up to daily. The breakfast buffet is one of the best ones we had in Switzerland and filled us up prior to our hiking trips. The mini bar was free and refilled by housekeeping. The mattress was slightly on the firm side which is how we like it. We had utilized the spa that was free for guests and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi and saunas. We were able to get time slots easily in the morning for later on in the day. We also had deep tissue massage and facial done which was very relaxing. The therapists were friendly and accommodated our needs. Highly recommended!”

“Great hotel for the money, really recommend! I enjoy places that are family run, where people work with love and pleasure and make us cozy. This is such a place, the whole hotel team were friendly and helpful. The room was big and clean, they also organised our stuff every day. Swimming pool with jacuzzi and two saunas with a good resting room where you can have water and fruits. Breakfast buffet was one of the best I had in Switzerland, several options of cheese, bread, dried ham, bread and etc. Good coffee machine also. Dinner with a salad’s buffet and freshly made dishes with 3 different options for the main menu. The location is pretty good, really near First station and sports shops. There is also a nice bar with homemade chips available for free. Enjoyed also the decoration and history of this place, will sure return whenever possible.”

“Really lovely staff and amazing views. Great breakfast and nice areas including games room on the ground floor to relax. Rooms are clean and comfortable, bathrooms a little dated but would definitely stay again. It's walking distance to the train station but if you have bags, particularly if there's a bit of snow, would recommend getting a transfer as it gets quite steep towards the end of the walk and dragging suitcases can be hard going.”

“My wife and I visited this pleasant hotel for the second time this summer! (07.09 & 04.10) The rooms are always clean and so is the bathroom! The view from the terrace is simply breathtaking! The lady who owns it is very kind and ready to help like everyone else, the dinner in the very cozy "old" room is simply captivating. The food was excellent from the Soup to the dessert, especially my wife's Vegetarian menu was also very delicious! And here I would like to take the moment to write about the first time we were here, my wife and I are big brownie fans and I never thought that I would eat one of the most delicious forest fruit brownies in my life, my wife tried to ask for the recipe but unfortunately the young chef didn't give us his secret, which we understood 😁All in all, we had a great time here, and we'll definitely come again next summer!”

“One cannot beat this location for amazing views of the Eiger, Manchester and Jungfrau trio of peaks in the Swiss Alps. Located in the mountaintop village of Murren. Has a very nice and extensive breakfast spread. With indoor and outdoor tables. Has tennis courts in the back, facing the mountain peaks for those who want to indulge without getting distracted by the amazing views around. We stayed in room #26 for three nights, a corner unit with a balcony. It has shared bathrooms and shower units between all guests and no elevators, for those with heavy luggage. Extremely comfortable beds and blankets. We'll definitely stay here again when in the area.”

“We stayed at the Hotel Belle Epoque the first few days of September this year. We found the hotel met our needs in every way. In particular, the service we received from the staff was above our expectations. Everything possible was done to accommodate us and make our stay pleasant. Rooms are pretty, if not fully updated, beds were comfortable, snacks and water were provided, and everything was very clean. The bathrooms in the two rooms where our family stayed were great, shiny clean and had some nice amenities. We liked our breakfast and the service there, as well as in the bistro, was just as we liked. Location is wonderful. In short, we had no complaints and much to praise.”

“The owner informed us that the kitchen was closed at 6.30pm (which was understandable since there were almost no people) but after that we ordered a plate of meats and cheeses and what we got was some discounter stuff which you could taste was lying around there for a while. Then they charge us 28.50 francs for that plate alone which is an absolute joke. Avoid this place at all costs and don't order that joke of a "kalte Platte"”
