First Cabin Nishi Umeda

5 Chome-2-30 Fukushima, Fukushima Ward, Osaka, 553-0003, Japan

“I stayed in the FIRST CLASS CABIN. It cost 7,018 yen per night on weekdays. Staff service: The staff appeared neat and provided courteous service. The concept of the accommodation is inspired by airplanes, but their uniforms didn't quite give the impression of cabin attendants. Breakfast: The portion was small for the price. I felt that 800 yen for just a sandwich was expensive, so I had some emergency food as well, considering I expected to be active that day. Note that eating and drinking are only allowed in the lobby, not inside the rooms. Room: The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. However, the bed was short, and someone over 180cm tall might hit their feet on the TV. Be aware that the room doesn't have a lock and lacks soundproofing (there's a high chance of being awakened by others' alarm sounds). Large public bath: It was excellent and very relaxing. I used it twice, once in the evening and once in the morning, and both times there were few people, and the hot water was clean. Amenities: They provide earplugs for soundproofing. Just be cautious as the quality of the toothbrush provided is unusually low.”

“Room - Very small despite big cities like Tokyo and Osaka have small hotel rooms. Also our room faced the main food so it was quite noisy to sleep with. Location - 15 mins walk from Osaka station which personally it’s not convenient to tourists and it isn’t the easiest to find. Amenities - amazing - you don’t even need to bring anything! Staff - nice and professional”

“Excellent hotel, the room was very nice and modern with an excellent bathroom including a western size bathtub. Very comfortable bed and a wonderful view of Osaka and the Wakayama mountains. The free shuttle to the airport was a nice bonus, otherwise it’s five minutes from the nearby station which is very manageable. The room had a sloped beam as you see in the photo which is easy to walk into when getting out of bed. We also had a long black hair on one of the pillows which wasn’t ours, not very nice.”

“Perfect for flying out or flying in from Kansai Airport. Kansai Airport Spa Hotel Garden Palace review. We started here after a night flight landing. Took about 15 mins taxi ride from the airport. Convenient and price was cheaper than a hotel with similar rating and facilities in Osaka City. Loved the gardens, with REAL plants and beautiful flowers. A balanced mix of hotel and ryokan for the tired traveler. Kudos to florist Yumiko Akuta who was refreshing the displays at 1am! The feeling of being invited to a relaxing spa starts at the front of the hotel with lots of greenery and thriving plants. The happy koi in the ponds is another indicator that this hotel is managedv well. Rooms: spotlessly clean and spacious compared to other twin rooms in Japan. We had enough space for two suitcases and our bags. We had Western style beds - very comfortable. Lighting, full length mirror, and the best toothbrushes I've seen so far in my 8 years coming to Japan. 🪥😆 Meals: dinner was in-house as it's not in an eat- street area. We found the pieces to be quite cheap for hotel/ ryokan standards and we liked the option of an "a la carte" menu rather than a large kaiseki/ set course meal. Staff: warm welcome with smiles, efficiency, and well staffed (4 wait staff at dinner, 3 reception staff at evening check-in). Kudos to Manami for dinner. And Johnny for reception help. Onsen: As always, no pics of the communal onsen, but the water was great - not too chlorinated. Typical of good ryokan, it has lots of shower amenities - body wash, shampoo, conditioner and shin care options in the change room. The disappointment came from the tourists/ guests who don't seem to read b onsen rules about washing before bathing or drying off before going back into the change rooms. 😆😭 The decor may be a little dated, but they get full marks for maintenance, cleanliness, comfort and staff omotenashi. They spoke English, Mandarin and were helpful, welcoming and friendly. Guests were 50-50 Japanese & overseas, so it still has local approval for quality. It also operates as a day onsen - another marker for good quality water and facilities. Summary: convenient, comfortable , clean, welcoming. Excellent value. Incredible charming with fresh flowers. Highly recommended!”

“Nice place to go for a barbecue if you don't have the space and the tools for doing one at home. They provide everything. The major drawback is the steaks they provide are really tough... I would have prefered pork, sausages or chicken instead of this. But in overall it was a nice experience and we had a great time.”

“Such a nice! Much enjoy this hotel and it’s location in a nice area of Osaker. I always use Toyoko inn for all my stays and have not much of the side of the complaints. Yet the challenge I was experiencing during my stay this time was that the wifi was too slow and not usable. In my opinion stable wifi is a must, especially for people that need to do some work. Other than that it was a great stay, perhaps something Toyoko can work at in the future. Thank you always.”

“Right down the street from the main entertainment district. I had a single bed room that was pretty cozy. Surprisingly nice bathroom too. Temperature control in the room isn't great. And the walls are kinda thin / hallways echoy.”

“The CP value of the accommodation is very high. Our six friends stayed together and felt very comfortable for the past two days. There are convenience stores, paid parking lots and LUUP next door. They are very comfortable. Next time they come to Osaka, they will still choose their home. It is 10 minutes' drive away from the downtown area, which is very convenient.”

“This is a hotel next to Shinsaibaishi Exit North 7. It’s really clean, has a family mart next to it, and is has regular rooms you would expect out of any hotels! I didn’t find any trouble like the other reviewers. Breakfast was located on the first floor, and it was the same everyday which I found could be done better. Otherwise, everything else was great!”
