“I found this an ideal place to relax in the heart of the New Forest and close to the sea. There is entertainment every night for both adults and children. There is a choice between caravans and lodges (I stayed in a lodge). I enjoyed the use of the gym (Very well equipped and free for guests), the indoor swimming pool and steam room (again free for guests although you may need to queue to enter during busy periods). The reception staff were very helpful”

“A great stay, this is a gem of a hotel to find, amazing with dogs too. The hotel is situated directly next to many of the hiking or biking trials from the front door. Their attention to detail is the best Ive seen, they have loan wellies of every size from baby to adult! They left dog bowl, bed and towels in our room, reserved us a dog friendly table in the bar area, so many nice sweet touches you dont even find in 5 star hotels. The handyman/groundskeeper was very helpful with storing our bikes, all the staff were very pleasant, chatty and full of tips and advice for the area. We ate the restaurant menu in the var area, the food was very good, only the cheese board needs more soft cheeses ! The room was ground floor and opened to the gardens, just little thoughts like this for dog guests made it so special. Highly recommend this stay, well done the entire team.”

“Quiet and peaceful location nestled centrally by the South Winchester Gold Course, the lodges were roomy and well maintained. The afternoon tea on arrivals was a nice touch and made us feel at home. The 3 bedroom are large with plenty of space for the family and the kitchen is well equipped. Only drawback for us was the zipper king bed was feeling a little tired but otherwise the lodges are highly recommended for a quiet stay on the outskirts of Winchester. In addition, our children enjoyed the gold putting area next to the lodges.”

“The management/owner has changed since my visit last year. THANK GOODNESS ….whilst I was taking a couple of weeks break in Crondall village last June just two minutes down the road from this beautiful inn, I had the dreadful misfortune to wander into the place and experienced the most obnoxious barman ever. However we now have new people and I will be returning next summer. It is idyllic here AND a bonus was they sold the beautiful locally produced wine by the glass and yes only a few minutes walk away from the local wine producer, how special is that ! Good luck to the new owners, I’m reading some nice reviews.”
