“I am having the unfortunate experience of staying at this hotel where the reception staff left a lot to be desired in terms of friendliness and customer service. While I understand that not all encounters can be perfect, this particular hotel's reception staff consistently fell short of the mark. From the moment I arrived until today, I noticed an air of arrogance from the reception staff. There was no warm greeting or genuine smile or willingness to help. Instead, it is always dismissive attitude and a lack of willingness to assist. It felt as if they were just going through the motions, treating me as if I owed them something rather than being a paying guest. Throughout my stay, I encountered several instances where I required their assistance, only to be met with impatience and an unhelpful attitude. Whether it was requesting information about my room or hotel facilities, the reception staff always seemed inconvenienced by my requests. I had to ask them several times before they would explain things properly. P.S. Breakfast is also awful. The selection of food is miserable. It is absolutely unacceptable for a 5-star hotel.”

“I don’t usually like hostels in Australia . I believe that they are overvalued. But The Village is different.This place is great! It’s located just in the middle of the city. It’s very clean and quiet. And it is not a party hostel, which for me is an absolute plus. The staff is super friendly. It may be a bit more expensive than other hostels, but I rather pay this extra bucks and enjoy my stay. I will definitely recommend it!”

“Located almost next to Cairns Central and our room 1425 was clean and well presented upon arrival. Not big but ok for our 5 night stay. No lifts and wifi pretty slow at peak times. A good 15 min walk to Esplanade.We would stay here again.”

“Three members of our family stayed in a double sea room view just after Xmas....it was absolutely stunning! The rooms had clearly just been newly renovated and were very stylish (without being hotel bland) and also notably the SIZE of the rooms was fantastic. The location and views from the roof top restaurant were unbeatable. We would most definitely love to stay here again :)”

“The rooms were mediocre, and the location was great right next to a grocery store and everything surrounding was beautiful. But the staff were incredibly rude. My boyfriend and I were advised by the government over text, along with several other tourists in the area to leave the area as there was an incoming cyclone. We are not from here, so we weren’t aware of how bad conditions could get and weren’t wanting to risk it. The motel refused to refund us for the nights we wouldn’t be there even though we were being advised to leave, especially considering the grocery stores were bare. The lady at the front desk raised her tone with us and said “I’m not your mother you choose to leave or to stay.” My boyfriend and I then left, paying for the next three nights in not one but two hotels. Which put a pretty large damper on our vacation funds. I have travelled and stayed in many hotels in many countries, And have (never) been so dissapointed with how we were spoken to. Unless you are willing to stand at reception for long periods of time getting talked to like complete rubbish, I would strongly advise to go somewhere else. The worst service I have EVER had.”
