“I have stayed at this property multiple times over the last ten years or so. This last visit will be my last time. I'll start with the positives. The location is still great being near the beach. Overall, the property staff are very focused on keeping the grounds clean and are all courteous. The spa is great and Robert is a fantastic masseur. On to the negatives. I booked four nights in early November and got a rate of $260 per night. A few weeks ago, I learned that I could extend my stay an extra night with no work conflicts. I called the hotel and asked if I could add one additional night to my stay in a room that wouldn't require moving. They told me that for the fourth night, I would need to pay $450! I don't understand why as a repeat customer and someone who had already booked four nights, they couldn't just honor the rate I was offered initially. Well they couldn't/didn't. Fine. I was supposed to check out Monday, 1/8 so on Sunday I inquired if I could arrange a late check-out. I was told no because someone was checking into my room later on Sunday. What? I am staying through to Monday. Well after researching, the front desk attendant said it appeared I was checking out Sunday. I blew a bit of a gasket, there, and then he realized no, I am staying one extra night. BUT, I needed to check out, first, and then check back in......for the same room! And had I not gone to the front desk to ask about a late checkout Monday, how would I have known that I needed to do this? No one told me at check-in. This place is far from a grand resort. Breakfast is ridiculous. For $450 per night, you can literally stay at the Hilton or Conrad and have a full-service 4-star hotel with all the amenities that goes with it. I am gluten intolerant and the only options at their breakfast is a hardboiled egg, a banana, or a yogurt. I might as well have breakfast at 7-Eleven. When I checked in, no one offered to help shlep my bags two building away on the second floor. The only reason people should stay here is if the only important factor in choosing your accommodations is to be naked and sit in a hot tub. The gyms they advertise as being on site have had the same equipment for decades.”

“Perfect for a 4 day getaway. Maybe 50 feet away from the beach, definitely within easy walking distance. The owner was extremely accommodating and hospitable. He provided beach towels, bikes, and beach chairs that we could borrow. The stay in the room was quiet and we didn't have any problems with guests on other rooms. We felt safe in that area and didn't have any cause for concerns. The room was clean and I was stunned how there was no sand in the room at all when we got there. The room has a small kitchennette with stove top, microwave, sink, fridge, coffee pot, toaster, dishes, silverware, pots and pans. The bathroom was a bit small, but the shower was big enough to make sure I could hose off all the sand. If we go back, we would stay here again.”

“I had just recently stayed at the Manta Ray for a total of 12 days at the beginning of December 2023 and was so happy I made the right choice to rest my head every night. The owners were so gracious and accommodating every step of my stay there. I felt so safe coming and going, that being a single woman staying by herself for the first time in her life for this amount of time was so rewarding in so many ways. The view of the ocean from my room was outstanding. I saw the sunrise most mornings, and you are literally steps from putting your toes in the sand and seeing the ocean come and go at their beautiful oceanside Inn. Thankful to have a place like this where even through you are not family, you feel like you are because of the how you are treated. I highly recommend the Manta Ray Inn to anyone who wants a quiet, peaceful, safe, and beautiful place to rest your head.”

“I had such a wonderful stay here! Booked on Travelocity, and it’ll be my go-to booking in the area. First impressions: Deb, the property manager, was amazing. Made me feel at home, and instantly felt that it was a warm and friendly community. Many of the guests seemed to be repeat visitors as well. They also let me borrow beach chairs, had great towel service, and rooms were spotless. The kitchen had the exact right items to make breakfast, coffee and reheat leftovers. Super close to the public beach with showers, bathrooms and lifeguards. The area is charming and quiet, decor is modern and comfortable, and I will absolutely be back!
