“My expectations for the staff weren't high from the get-go, having read the comments beforehand. It was my mistake to think it wasn't a big deal. It kicks off with no one being able to handle English well for basic tasks. Combine that with incompetence and unfriendliness, and it becomes a real headache. The place has potential, but the rooms are basic and not well maintained, and breakfast is nothing to write home about. I can only give it one star for a couple of reasons: Firstly, the price swings wildly – we shelled out €248.63 per night for two in mid-October. Anything over 100€ is a rip-off, even in peak season. Secondly, I learned the hard way that relying on competent staff in other countries is crucial. A fellow hotel guest smacked our car without a word. Since we checked out before him, I asked the front desk to sort things out. They promised the Executive Assistant would handle it and get back to us. Well, it's been a while, and we're still waiting for that call.”

The big disappointment comes from the restaurant. All tables are dirty if you arrive 30-40min after start, dirty and chipped materials, dirty dressed waiters and service personnel. Food quality and choice below average. We visited the other resort in the area and it was totally different! “Wallet stolen from hotel room! Due to the Spartan Race Esterel on the weekend of 30.09-01.10 I was a guest there. Before the races, I put my ID card and some cash in my sports bag and left my wallet along with all other papers (including driver's license, medical card, credit cards) in my travel bag. I had this lying on the floor next to the bed. On Sunday evening, when I wanted to go to dinner, I looked for my wallet in vain. I searched 2x the complete room and even pulled off the bed, in the hope to find the wallet there. Unfortunately in vain. Since I had paid meticulous attention to the fact that the door was locked due to the defective automatic door closing system, only the staff came into question to have access to the room. On description of the facts and requests to contact the cleaning lady, was initially only reacted dismissively with the reason one would have no contact details of the cleaning staff. I should wait and contact them myself the next day. The problem with the whole thing was that she would have started work only after my departure. Only the threat to call the police brought a little concession. While I was at dinner, they tried to reach the cleaning lady. After my return, they were already waiting for me at the reception, I should not call the police, the cleaning lady would come extra early the next day, so that we would have the opportunity to talk to her. Of course, the cleaning lady denied the whole matter and could not explain to us how the wallet could disappear from a locked room. Her explanations were that I must have lost it somewhere else. However, this could not be due to the reason for staying in Esterel as described above. I explained that because of the insurance, a report to the police was inevitable. I should leave my contact data and they also wanted to search the room again. About 20 minutes after my departure, I received an e-mail: The wallet had been found with all the papers. The papers were indeed still there, only the cash (about 90-110€) was missing. When I asked where the wallet had been found and by whom, I could not be given any real information. I have also sent this fact by mail to the company headquarters, to this mail I have not even received a response after 3 weeks.”

“I went in June and I cannot say enough great things. I wish I would’ve dinner there at least once. As far as location, room style/layout and service-everything was phenomenal. By far one of my top European destinations. We had the newly remodeled suite with one bedroom that separates living room/bedroom. The best thing about this particular suite-2 full bathrooms. We did not have to share. I can’t stress enough how nice that was. Mohammed was heaven sent! Truly went above and beyond to help us book every single reservation from lunch/dinners/yacht. I reached out and told him what I was looking for and he made it happen. It’s service like this that’s makes 5 star hotels stand out from others. Looking forward to returning!”
