“I like Virginia's showroom and helpful showroom staff. The complaint I have is concerning ordering and pickup. I purchased an engineered stone shower curb sill and realized upon installing that it had small gouges and other defects. I thought that we caused the defects because we accidentally kicked a tile and it went flying so I called Virginia to purchase another one. We got the new one to the job and realized it also had defects. So for a third time, I'm driving to Virginia for a sill, a half hour out of my way each time. I get there and they realized that my sill had already been cut, as I didn't realize the defects until after I cut it so they said I couldn't return it. I asked why, and they said they couldn't resell a cut piece. I asked why they would want to resell a piece that's clearly defective from the manufacturer and they said that some contractors don't use the entire sill and that they may want the parts that aren't defective. So basically put, they believe in selling defective material, not discounted and unbeknownst to the contractor as the packaging can cover it up, in the off chance that a contractor will get it to the job, notice the defects then, and only need the parts that aren't defective. Unfortunately for me, I'm on my third trip to Virginia because I couldn't use the defective parts, which btw, the first sill I had was probably defective in the first place. Upon my third trip, they allowed me to open up 2 more sills in the warehouse to pick a new one (take off the packaging) and both were damaged and they wouldn't allow me to open any more. Why? Because they couldn't sell them if they're opened. They couldn't sell clearly defective sills. I tried a few times to explain what I thought was clearly faulty logic on their part not to mention totally inconsiderate behavior towards me and any other poor contractor who has to get this sill to the job only to realize then that it's defective, but all the young lady from the office had to offer me was an apology, an apology she had no clue whatsoever as to why she was giving it.”
