Limited breakfast menu but it tasted good. The place is situated in a very calm area and also close to many tourist spots. The ambience is really awesome. Room was very cozy and comfortable. “Not co-operative at all. We booked a deluxe room for 6 people. They didn't provide much of the things beforehand. You need to buy water can there..That was new for me. We wanted 1 hour early check in but owner was not co-operative in that regard...Due to rain our clothes got wet.but there were no hanger or anything like that.Place is quite for sure. Room was clean. Beds were okayish”

“Very bad experience. Their rooms look pretty only on the website. We had booked a room a month in advance, by looking at the website, a handful of positive reviews, and on my friend's recommendation. However, our experience was totally opposite of what we had in mind. We have stayed in all sorts of stays in different parts of India but this was a total no-go, especially for the price they charge. Despite booking a month prior, we got to hear from the receptionist "We do not have rooms available right now. We will accommodate you in a basic room tonight and tomorrow we will shift you to another room." The room they showed as "basic" did not even have the most basic thing: cleanliness. It seemed like they opened that room after ages; it had leakages, cobwebs, and a bad bad sting. They were not ready to commit to an upgrade the next day, not agreeing to refund when we decided to cancel our booking, or give us some assurance of providing a better room. The room's window opened into their restaurant's kitchen! It had no balcony. Linens seemed to be not changed for years. There was absolutely no network in the room, no light, no ventilation. We decided to chuck it and save our anniversary day and night by booking with The Promenade. They boast their about prime location, but Pondicherry is quite small in itself and there are 1000 times better stays around. Not at all recommended.”

“In the name of a Heritage Hotel, The French Villa is looting people of their money and a good experience in this location. I booked two rooms for 21st October for me and my friends. Both the rooms had several problems. 1. Rooms were not at all clean. The paintings on the wall and the room corners had MOULD all over it. Ac was not working. 2. Bed was broken and there were ants and insects all over it. 3. We spent just one night there, we requested for customer service or even asked to talk to their manager but no one responded to our calls. 4. Next day, while checking out, the hotel manager had the audacity to say that he has been managing 2 more hotels in Pondicherry. This hotel is more of a Heritage Hotel. 5. We spent 8k+ for two rooms and it’s not even we went for a cheaper stay. THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY OR HEALTH. In my personal opinion, if you don’t have the resources or time to maintain your hotels’ basic amenities, you shouldn’t be in this business. Heritage hotels are great if only you don’t call your lack of knowledge about maintaining one.”

“So we just needed a room for a day as we had our bus in the evening and did not want to carry our backpacks everywhere. This happened because another hotel we booked over MakeMyTrip cancelled at the last moment due to some issue from their end else I normally do not book my hotels offline. As it was Christmas weekend they charged us Rs 2500 for a very shabby room. The room hardly had any natural light, switches had no cover and bathroom door was also very shabby. Would not have minded if the room price was less but it does not deserve Rs 2500. Better to go for an Airbnb which will get you flats of far better condition at similar rates. It is near to White Town and Rock Beach no doubt but it is on a crowded road full of local traffic. Will not recommend the place at this high rate.”
