“We loved the hotel, pool was beautiful and the location great. The room was smallish but very clean, with a comfortable bed and nice balcony. The staff were very helpful and nothing was a bother. The only major downside of this hotel is the outdoor club that goes from 12am-6am in the vacant block right behind the hotel. If your room backs onto this as ours did, good luck sleeping Thurs-Sat night. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the nightclub.”

“Fantastic hotel with great amenities. The staff were very helpful and the pool had the sun all day and was clean. The grounds of the hotel was beautiful and quiet and lots of beautiful birds. Our room had a sea view and it was breathtaking - rooms had a working TV, plugs in convenient places and a fridge. AC was also lovely and cold. The location is a short walk to a beach and supermarket. Would 100% recommend this hotel if you are staying in Puerto Escondido.”

“Absolutely loved this hotel very cleaned and organized!!! The breakfast was amazing!!! The drinks are also amazing. The location is perfect I have the La papaya (a night club) 2 mins away and the city of Huatulco 7 mins away driving distance. And not to mention the beach right behind the hotel, with a warm pool to end the night! Overall I am very satisfied and will most definitely be coming back to this hotel.”

“I recently stayed hear with a group, and this hotel is absolutely gross. I would never stay here ever again. The rooms are disgusting, the water pressure is terrible and a shower took me over an hour to wash my hair. Two of our rooms had dead cockroaches, another ended up with a very large live lizard in it(because they don’t seal their windows or doors) and another with large, biting red ants that had to be killed. The floors are also just unbearably disgusting to a point where I never took my shoes off and I was extremely afraid that the rooms have bedbugs. One day while lying out by the pool, I watched the staff quickly remove two beds from a room across from the adult pool, so I am fairly certain this hotel has bedbugs. In addition, one of the travelers in our group couldn’t even get body wash from the staff, and she was told that you could only get body wash if you booked a certain level of room. I’ve never heard of such a thing in my entire life. In addition to that, she booked a room through the group that we traveled with, but upon check in, that room had a cockroach in it so she had to be moved to another room of a lower quality. As such, she certainly should’ve received body wash as it was in the first room. However, the location is great and I think that’s why people stay here, but I did a quick Google search and found many other local hotels without these issues. I would beware of this hotel, and not stay here.”

“Great location close to town and good value. Very chill and nice people. The treehouse room was rustic but exactly what you would want it you’re coming here. The only notes I would make for planning purposes is that the rooms require a walk across a courtyard to the bathroom or showers. Not an issue for most clients coming to this town. Also, the bar across the street plays ridiculously loud music until 2am every night. The provided earplugs help but if you’re looking for a very quiet stay, maybe skip”

“SO BEAUTIFUL! So nice! Unfortunately they did not heed our warning when we told them the door battery was low so when we came home on day two our door had been left wide open for hours. I’m sure it wasn’t malicious just a result of the door battery being low but… that’s really not ok!! We stayed in the nicest cabin, jacuzzi water was never warm (poorly insulated building so the water cooled shortly after hitting the tub not to mention it never got all that hot). If you want to use the kettle and pots to dump boiled water in like we did, go ahead. This place is beautiful but a little too rustic for the price point. And the door thing, really really unacceptable.”

“I hate to take a star off but the staff here is awful at the front desk. They are very snobby and refuse to help with anything. We asked for an extra trash bag and they looked at us with disgust and said “no.” We asked to use their printer and offered to pay and they gave the same response. The breakfast and cleaning staff are very nice but the front desk was rude and unhelpful and acted like we were inconveniencing them. The breakfast was good but sometimes there were no vegetarian or vegan options but they try to accommodate for you which is very nice. The hotel is very noisy as well. You can hear lots of commotion in the courtyard in the morning. The rooms are lovely and clean. The beds are comfortable. The water is a little unpredictable in temperature but it’s nothing intolerable. Overall enjoyed the stay but the staff was kind of the worst and really disappointing.”

“The internet connecting page lead to malware. Underground parking is only reachable by a ramp, but once your vehicle is lowered, only way up is through narrow metallic stairs like in a ship. Good luck getting your bags up, and don't expect any help from the staff which is disinterested at best. They won't bother letting you know there is no elevator so as to give you a chance to leave your luggage at the lobby, either. We tried to extend our stay for a night, however they required us to check out, take out our stuff and wait until the check in time to move to another room, even when an exact same room was available for whomever was checking into our room. It was impossible to have the receptionist realize this and we had go leave early for a work day, so waiting for check in time was impossible. We opted instead for a new hotel, and will likely not be returning.”

“We had a lovely experience staying at Hotel Con Corazon in Oaxaca. The room had all necessary amenities and was super-clean. The hotel is beautiful with so many plants and cozy spots to relax. The breakfast was delicious. I also grew to really appreciate the constant availability of purified water - something I miss in the other hotels during the rest of my Mexico trip. However, the true highlight of the experience was the service. All staff were truly friendly and wonderful. They make you feel so welcome and cared for.”

“Our stay at Quinta Real was great from beginning to end. The attention to detail by the staff is amazing. Check in with Lissette was smooth and quick. Upon arrival we were greeted by Juan (who's awesome) and given cool eucalyptus infused towels and ice cream. From there the view from the top of the hotel is BEAUTIFUL. There are mosquitoes so I do recommend applying/ bringing bug spray. You can also purchase natural repellent at the local grocery store (Chedraui). We stayed in the king suite that had a hammock and personal pool. The room had a great view and was very spacious. The toiletries offered were toothbrush, toothpaste, a few q-tips, sewing kit, and all of your other normal items offered by a hotel. There is a fan in the sitting area and the a/c works well. My first issue out of 2 was with our a/c, it was leaking water when on. The second, was the water pressure not being the greatest. It's not a deal breaker but definitely noticeable. The food was delicious and I do recommend it however it is on the more expensive side versus going to a local restaurant. Nonetheless, if it's within your budget go for it. We were served by Onofre, Gerardo, Rafael, Miguel, and Gabriel. They were all outstanding and did a great job. I appreciated their attentiveness throughout our stay. During our time there the property itself was quiet and we did not have any issues with loud neighbors. Our cleaning lady did a great job (unfortunately we did not get her name). We enjoyed swimming in the pool and had it to ourselves one afternoon. Upon our departure Jairo took great care of us. He went above and beyond getting our car ready and removing some empty water bottles we had in the back without even being asked. All in all, our stay was great and we look forward to coming back in the future.”

“A quiet hotel with comfortable rooms (plenty of hot water!) with AC. There is a pool and a restaurant, but service there is slow and the evening a little nonchalant. Food is ok, prices middle of the road. 7 blocks from the Zócalo and markets, taxis as usual in Mexico cheap. Plenty to see in the area and Oaxaca a friendly, cultural and clean city.”

“There are many reasons why we loved Hotel El Mirador. Location is superb. We walk whenever we can and this hotel is very well situated to walk to the gym , beaches , restaurants, busy streets for shopping and food , Chedraui is close by too ! If you want to go to the further beaches and I’m sure you do , you can take a taxi right out front or a collectivo as well. The rooms are very clean , bed was very comfy. lots of hot water, good view of the ocean, two very large and clean pools. The 2nd story pool was just retiled and it’s like new. The staff are very friendly and kind and will help you out if need be! The air conditioner works superb ! A special thank you for making us feel so welcome! Like any hotels one does hear noise occasionally but at bedtime , the noise stops so no worries there. There is a great place to eat called La Luna , 10 meters close that is associated with the hotel. We ate most breakfasts there and Gloria takes care if your preferences. We will be back for sure. Muchas Gracias for having us!”
