“The ocean view of the Onsen is gorgeous as it is a open pool on the top of the building. There were not too many pools to choose and there was a bamboo hedge in front of the view when looking out to the sea. The thing that I noticed was that there was a mom bringing her about 7 yrs old son into the women’s onsen and it was quite awkward for other guests. I hope the hotel could work on it further.”

“Really place with a private ones in your room! The way it is setup the rooms will have a sea view with a decent amount of privacy. The price is very fair and theirs a beach that’s walking distance. You can also book the onsen on-site that is larger and is overlooking the ocean. Beautiful setting all to have to yourself! Highly recommend if you are staying in the Shimoda area!”

“We stayed here for two nights and upgraded to one bedroom suite with view of the racetrack. We love the onsen and we both enjoyed the video race car game at the gym. A special thanks to the restaurant assistant manager, she was very kind and helpful, thank you for the recommendations of drinks, we really enjoyed the meals at the restaurant. We can experience driving on the race track, we drove our rental car, it was fun. You can rent a car but needs to make reservations in advance. The staffs were all friendly and helpful.”

Anjin Kai's food is simply delicious, and I like how he uses local ingredients in surprising ways, and arranges them like art, so you can enjoy each dish as you eat. The birthday cake is not too sweet, has a very elegant taste, and is light. I should have been full from dinner, but I ended up eating it all. Also, the staff are very kind and fun, so I would definitely use them again.”

“Luckily beautiful weather enhanced an attractive. Our room was quite old Japanese style with Kotatsu (a low table with a futon placed over it and a heater is attached beneath which keeps your lower body warm) and with small Onsen. There is also a large common bath and a sauna and 3 private baths outside that you can enjoy as long as you want. I didn’t see any foreigners in the common bath but you should try it. There are more varieties of bath tubs. You can choose either Japanese food or Western style food for your dinner and breakfast. I recommend you to take Japanese ones. Kids can play and experience some old Japanese toys and treasure hunt. Don’t forget to get ramen for midnight snack after kids sleep:)”
