“The hotel is in a very good location, right by the river and within walking distance of most of Arcos de Valdevez. The room was small, but comfortable. The staff was very helpful. There are only dining options on the weekend, but the front desk will make a reservation if you ask (Try O Brasiero and, if you like meat, O Lagar). The breakfast was OK. The Spa offerings are of limited scope, but good; there is a very talented masseuse. The room could have been a little bigger - but honestly I should have paid more attention to the size when booking. Arcos de Valdevez is probably hopping in July and August, but by the end of September, not so much. The town is a little sleepy and unless you are into the local sports facilities, there is not a ton to do here. If you like churches there are several beautiful ones.”

“Don't go here for a romance. This is "design" gone wrong. When you go to the toilet anyone else in the room will hear and smell everything; there is no door to close, only half closing glass panels. The shower works ok, but there is nowhere to hang your towels. Breakfast? If you are a coffee drinker, trashy instant coffee is all you can get, if you are a tea drinker, the not so hot water from the instant machine comes with particles in it. The bed is good.”

“Situation 2022: To be honest, this campsite just exist because of the location and the nice Wind-, Kite-, Wing-, and Surf-Community. Same Campsite just 1km away from the Beach won't have Guest´s. Showers Toilets and Bungalows are quite old. Old isn't an issue but most of the showers are broken, toilets are dirty and they try to safe as much toilet paper and towel paper as possible. They are really expensive compared to other campsites and they don't offer any kind of discount for longterm camper. The only option is to buy a OCC-Membership to get an 15% discount. They don´t realise what kind of goldmine they have, if they will invest in the Infrastruktur. The Spot and the City is amazing compared with locations like Tarifa or the Costa Brava. Situation 2023 Unfortunately my 2022 Review is still valid. No changes or invest in the infrastructure.”

“Unfortunately not worth the visit. The garden is nice and the building was elegantly renovated but the whole place is poorly managed. Avoid during winter as it's very cold and the rooms are not properly insolated. It took a couple of hours to warm up our room. The bathroom doesn't have any heating or extraction fan. Also avoid paying more for the suites as the extra space serves no purpose and the view is to the back of the building (check the view from our suite on the photo attached). Staff needs proper hospitality training. The first person at the reception wasn't fit for the role of welcoming guests. Be aware, the spa requires extra fees. The breakfast was good.”

Was really impressed on our last day when we asked for an early breakfast, the previous evening, they arranged with kitchen staff a 6:30am sitting. This was really appreciated. Suggestion, with the bar not always opened a room beer fridge would certainly improve the experience.”
