“We stayed at this hotel for a swim meet at the Keystone Aquatic Center. The location was convenient to the venue. The complimentary breakfast had a great variety of options- eggs, sausage, bagels/toast/muffins, pancakes, fruit and drinks. Sound carries a lot but complimentary earplugs are provided in the lobby. The room and hotel were clean, overall it was a pleasant stay and we would consider staying here again.”

“Two years in a row I had the pleasure of attending my job's holiday party at this fabulous place. I love watching how professional, courteous, friendly and well spoken the staff are outside of the entrance off of 19th Street AND once you enter the building. They are all standing strategically waiting to help you. You will NEVER see anyone standing blocking the entrance or looking lost at the entrance because the Staff is always right there welcoming you and ready to help you. Lastly my favorite part of this amazing building is one of the beautiful yet steep escalators. If you carefully glance above your head you'll see words scrolling along the ceiling with white lettering. It's not something you see everyday HOWEVER it's a BEAUTIFUL SIGHT. Make sure you continue to hold on while you're going up the escalator because it's steep. This place has become my newest favorite hotel in Philly!!”

“Beautiful historic hotel in downtown Jim Thorpe. Our room was comfortable. The beds were firm but in a good way. Desk staff was attentive. Very close to all the local attractions. Parking is available and the front desk has cameras to let you know what spots are available. My only disappointment was the tap water. It came out of our faucet brown. This would not be a big deal if bottled water was made available in our room but it was not, even if it was charged to my room. We had to go down to the basement and use a vending machine, which only accepts ones and fives. Since everything closes here so early, good luck getting change. We also wanted to hit the pub but it was closed for a private party.”

This hotel was about 20 minutes away but worth a little extra driving to have the 1 bedroom suite, included breakfast, pool, etc. Hotel was clean and everything about our stay went smoothly. The staff were all especially nice and went out of their way to make sure we had a comfortable stay - you can tell they have a good culture within the employees there. Would definitely stay again!”

“This little gem was recommended by a colleague and I’m so glad I took her advice. The food and service is incredible. I chose Italian wedding soup as a side with my entree Mediterranean chicken and both were delicious. The chicken breasts are topped with a layer of spinach, artichoke and caper sauce, then black olives and feta. It was so good I took a friend the next evening. We had the Nantucket which was white fish stuffed with crab and topped with cheese sauce and a burger. The food was amazing! If you get a chance to visit here you won’t be disappointed. The service was excellent both times.”

“I stayed in a 6-bed male dorm. The room has plenty of shared space for you to store your personal belongings, and there are tall lockers for you to store your larger personal belongings. The room has a special "night light", which emits a very special dim light when you turn on the timer. It's such a smart idea for people not to wake up everyone in the room by turning on the main light, and I wish more hostels had "night light". The community bathroom is fine - 3 stalls in the male bathroom, which are never occupied at the same time. The toilet is pretty spacious too. The hostel does not provide free breakfast, which is a pity because the community kitchen is actually a pretty neat space for people to meet new friends. The hostel is located in a very convenient location - walk 8 minute to the subway station, and the major tourist attractions are within walking distance. It certainly helps that Philadelphia is quite walkable in general (just make sure you are walking in a safe neighborhood). The hostel is quite close to several bars, and if you like that it's good for you. If you don't like going out, don't worry since the noise isn't too bad.”
