The restaurant is as you'd expect, tables well laid out and decorated nicely (a little too flowery for my taste) The cushions on the couches made it awkward to sit as they were so big, they look nice and that is about their only use. It was also exceptionally warm in the restaurant. Service was with a gentleman on his first day (he did a great job, very attentive). The food was very good, My partner however was very ill that night. He had prawn cocktail starter and salmon as a main course. I can only assume the prawns or fish was the cause as it was a late meal.”

As locals, we always feel welcome at the Social Hub, and after a chat with Julia it seemed like the right place to invite our wedding guests for a brunch here. The Social Hub was extremely helpful! Communication with them was flawless and always clear and to the point. They made sure we could use the breakfast buffet for brunch, reserved an area, and even arranged mimosa’s. The food was simply amazing (especially the scrambled eggs) and all our family and friends loved the vibes at this place. Everyone who had luggage was allowed to store it, we felt super welcome. We can recommend the social hub to anyone who wants to organize a personal event here! And seriously, try the scrambled eggs;) Thanks so much everyone at The Social Hub!”

“Great place to relax! Cozy rooms and friendly hosts and staff. Delicious breakfasts, they also serve lunch made from organic products, but unfortunately we were not able to use this service because lunch is served only from 12:00-15:00. But in the neighboring town there is an excellent Bistro of Peter and in the immediate vicinity there is a restaurant at the golf club. Peter's cuisine is very decent - we recommend it. On the territory of this boarding house there is a wonderful garden and an evening bar, open depending on the time of year until 17:00 or 18:00, respectively. If you want to experience city life, Amsterdam and Utrecht are about half an hour away. But you live and enjoy the local nature, canals, walking and cycling. The room amenities are standard (nothing luxurious) but the shower was lovely and the bed comfortable - I was not wanting for anything. I took a couple of meetings from the cafe and enjoyed coffee to go in the morning. A perfect home base for my few days there in business. Hoping to return!”

“Dropped in for breakfast buffet having just arrived from the cross channel ferry on a Sat morning. Breakfast items were fresh, tasty and a mixture of cold and cooked items. Great location close to the Stena ferry terminal and nearby to e-car charging points and shops. Hotel has lots of charm and history.”

“Room for improvement! We stayed in a family house with three bedrooms upstairs and one down stairs. Firstly the house was not properly cleaned on our arrival. The previous families laundry was in bags in the hallway as we walked in. After the first day we called regarding the following: -Large sliding door leading to the deck couldn't be locked. -Sink upstairs would not drain properly. -Upstairs bedroom window couldn't be opened because a hinge was missing. -The ventilation system had an alarm because the filter needed changing. -No extra highchair even though we had confirmed before arrival. The door, highchair, and air filter where rectified at the end of the second day. We also received complementary bread for the following morning for the inconvenience. This was very much appreciated. Not the ideal situation for a family with three young children under 3 years old and someone who was heavily pregnant. Check in is also not on the premises itself. You have to drive 2 minutes down the road. Nice house and location. Shame about the lack of maintenance and upkeep of the premises.”
