“After finishing both challenges (trying all the Michelin 3 Stars and all the Parisian stars in 365 days), I’m now redoing a lot of them but also trying the “main” 2 stars. Indeed, during my tour, I often ask chefs for 2 Stars advices and La Grenouillère name came up several times amongst their recommendations. So here I was. Please note that this review is one for the restaurant. So what’s extraordinary here? Well a word of advice and a second one. First one, is that indeed, La Grenouillère is often mentioned and expectations can be high, but more importantly, distorted. Just like a movie, after hearing so many feedback, your experience may be polluted. So my first advice would be not to read to many reviews about it (which is a bit ironic coming from me, I admit…). Why? Because some reviews may induce you to go into an intellectual read, where I think one must first simply relax and experience it before thinking of it. It’s a challenge indeed, not only because as I said you may have hear of the chef and his cuisine before, but also the atmosphere, the design, the foodie crowd may incline you to it. Resist. And let yourself dive into the nature first. The freshness of the radish. The pear. The scallops. Just enjoy it, and then enjoy them, and then you may wonder how they are connected, what effect they produce on you and so on. But the last part is an option, or at least a consequence, not the goal. I guess the goal is just to bring you closer to his nature, by that I mean region, by breaking it down and playing with it. The crowd was foodies and couples. The wine list had some the right names on it. A very solid two stars”

Breakfast, Lunch, and dinner services are all very well thought of and prepared. Wine pairings with meals were thoughtful and complimented each item perfectly. The additional benefit of the city of Chantilly being it's surroundings makes this an excellent and elegant escape. And, a beautiful place to spend a few days and explore.”

“Francis at reception speaks very good English and he's a very pleasant guy. The steak dinner was amazing. Very good steak. My main issue with the hotel is the room design. On the positive side, you get very big bed and even a mini fridge. On the negative side, firstly the toilet is in a separate room to the bathroom, which means you have to exit toilet and go to bathroom to wash hands without touching the toilet door handle. Secondly there are no power points at bedside. They are located at the front of the room near the TV. So you can't really charge your phone near your bedside. Lastly, I could not work out how to turn the heating off. The controls on the wall don't seem to do anything.”

“Came here to celebrate with late lunch with extended family of 12 which was reserved months in advanced. Service was impeccable and the food presentation was excellent. It was a huge plus when the head chef came out to talk with us (see video) and we all enjoyed our fine dining experience. The grounds are lovely to stroll around after your meal and there's a nice shop to find that perfect gift. Apparently, during the summer, they have the outside BBQ and smoker going... we'd love to taste what that's like. Note, we did not stay overnight so can't comment on the rooms, but it looked very nice and in a super quiet neighborhood. I highly recommend to stop by the high end or the brasserie for a well presented meal, but don't forget to make your reservations early. Plus, there are a few EV Chargers available for free use in the parking lot : )”

“Fantastic! This is a gem. An old mill that has been sympathetically renovated with a modern and clean feel. The general feel is impressive, expensive, and simply beautiful. The suite is very generous in size with continuity of the same taste as in the lobby with regards to decor and feel. The restaurant is also in line with the lobby and suite. Some of the dishes on the dinner menu were worthy of a Michelin star, in particular; the scallops carpaccio. All starters and mains were very good, including kids' menu. The dessert were a bit of a let down but only when judged against starters and mains. However, they are perfectly adequate. Breakfast was very good, sadly fresh omlette was not offered but otherwise good. The pool and spa i.e. hammam, sauna x2, and a variety of showers (x3) were excellent and to very high standrad. Sadly, there was no time to have any treatments, so I can't comment. The changing rooms were spacious and clean with the usual bells and whistles i.e. working lockers, showers x2, hair dryer etc. The toiletteries provided in the pool's changing rooms are available to purchase from the reception at the spa. I did get the body lotion, it smells heavenly. Anything to improve: 1. Swim costume spinner in the changing rooms in the spa 2. A spa of this high standard usually provides towels plentifully. In similar places, I have seen large thick bath towels literally everywhere and, yes it does make a difference. Having said this, hand towels were available in the changing room. 3. Breakfast was shared in the same space with the attendees of a big conference - this was not ideal. It was noisy, very busy and unfortunately took away from the quietness, grandness and peace of the setting. Conclusion: I would absolutely love to come back - hopefully not coinciding with a conference.”
