“Hotel with breathtaking sea view, 5 min walk down to the beach and promenade. Had a reasonable spacious and very modern single room: comfortable bedding with 3 (!) different cushions, mini fridge. “Really liked the hotel and its quality even though the interiour was a bit old school and audience rather older, it was the right type of setting for a calm visit in late summer. Seestraße 10-13, 18439 Stralsund, Germany

“I enjoyed staying in the hotel. Outstanding service, everyone was very friendly and professional. I liked the breakfast, the quality of food proves the 4 stars they have. I would also mark the quality of the bathroom separately. The single room was a bit disappointing in terms of size (very tiny) but it was ok as I didn't spend much time there. The small but important thing: almost no cosmetic stuff in the bathroom, just the very chip liquid soap. For 4 stars it's really strange. And the bath towels were very small although of good quality. Very nice place to stay for 1-3 nights. Hope to come again when I am in Stralsund.”

Hotel Rosendomizil, Malchow

Lange Str. 2-6, 17213 Malchow, Germany

“We came for a short two night vacation. The location is beautiful, breakfast is delicious and served in a cafe with a breath-taking view of the water. The wellness center was great- pleasant, clean, relaxing, and kept with love. Staff were extremely friendly. The room itself is beautiful, with gorgeous wooden beams. The only tiny minus was that our bedroom window didn't have a clear view of the lake. So if that's important to you, ask for a room that has it. All in all, a wonderful experience!”

“We had a wonderful time at the Ostseeland Hotel! Our apartment was brand-new and quite modern, which we enjoyed. The location was great for us - a few minutes from the sea and in the middle of a great hiking path leading to the next villages, left and right. Breakfast was good as well. We would definitely consider the Ostseeland Hotel for our next stay by the Baltic Sea!”

Restaurant is cozy, food is ok, staff is friendly and able to help and try to find a solution when no reservation was made during a full house... The green looks nice, but was to late to play.”

The Grand Ahrenshoop

Dorfstraße 45, 18347 Ahrenshoop, Germany

“the pros: clean rooms. good mattress. perfect location at the beach separated by a road. perfect breakfast. quick room service. stable and strong wifi. they have text via email to address small issues like room service. imessage would be better as the system responds time is far greater. the next we call for coffee to the room in the morning. which worked better than the text via email as respond time is slow and leaves expectation open and not addressed. the food over all is great. fresh and all kinds of variants. it’s feels like the hotel is run by a chef. the Germans have separate dog beaches. which is not too far from the hotel facing south. [when going to the beach be aware of plenty of nudes. they do not have dedicated nude beaches as loads of people doing it without hesitation. you walk you dog and suddenly you see all of the anatomy from all demographics. they do not have a sign of warning for that but plenty of other signs 🤪] the challenges: the service at the ‘weitblick’ is slow. really slow. on a Friday they needed 38 minutes between the courses. on the next Saturday after the appetizer I had to ask for the main to be served after 46 minutes wait and no action. and the restaurant was not by all means full. they apologized and offered shots. could have been easily avoided by a attentive staff and always leaves a bad taste for the whole weekend experience: expectation management is key for a great experience. when arriving via google maps or apple maps you will be directed to the back side of the hotel. weird. could be fixed or maybe they see a reason behind that issue. when leaving the elevator first time to check into your room, you will find no direction : left or right. so you get lost and have to to the math yourself with all luggage in hand. could be easily fixed. the parking garage offers couple of electric car chargers. as we arrived in an EV we were asking for the chance of charging. first: you can use the room key to access the garage. that’s convenient. you need a second key to start the charge at the stations. they charge €6 per hour. just if you charge or even the has been fully charged. so when arriving at 5pm and plugging in your car is full at 2am in the night. you extra as you obviously would not set the alarm to re-park your vehicle. that system with fix money per time is bad. it’s like you wanna fill a pool with 34.000 liter of water; they give you a garden hose and charge by the minute. first: please drop the key for the charger itself. your garage is already only accessible via authorized key. 2nd: offer plenty of regular power outlets: the German 230V Schuko outlet: every EV has a standard charge cable on board. even for a one night stay with up to 19h time, every electric can be charge decently that way. low cost in infrastructure to the hotel. as the €6 per hour is a rip off, we charged at the Kurverwaltung approx 700m away from the hotel for €5 in total energy. the hotel would have charged us €54 for the same outcome. definitely something to think about.”

Land-gut-hotel Hermann

Albertsdorf 13/Haus 13, 18182 Bentwisch, Germany

“Hotels has paint falling of all over the place, 2 person room is on the top and has slanted walls. There was still dust and spider webs in the room. So they don't get deep cleaned. Floor is made of wood, so it squiks everywhere. A woman from the hotel staff barged into the men's dressing room, started, and then kinda yelled that is the swimming pool was about to close. No sorry or what (we were 4 minutes past closing time). A little knock would have been nice. Also there was a wedding party, that apparently had a smoke machine or sorts. And they let the smoke build up in the hallways, so on 1AM the alarm ring. Imo ots Party the staff who let it come this far. But the staff also didn't follow there steps afterwards, and just left everyone in theire room. The hotel and the old hotel (with Restaurant) are not connected from within, so you will need to walk outside if you want to go swimming, restaurant etc. The WiFi is free and available, but it's with a space x dish which is not placed optimal. The averege speed is 1mb/s if it doesn't drop. I hope they sometime would enable "Quality Of Service" so the speed gets better and more fair devited. But it's free so I can't blame about this. It's in a quite area, and has a nice green garden where you can walk around a bit”

Kochwerk Zingst

Wiesenstraße 1, 18374 Zingst, Germany

“When I first entered the establishment, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the washrooms. Very clean, nice-smelling. Sadly, the washroom was the best part of my experience at Kochwerk. And, if it were just a washroom, the establishment would undoubtedly receive 5 stars. As a restaurant, however, I must give just 2 stars. And, unfortunately, the restaurant component of the establishment should really be prioritized over the state of the washroom. Following a strange encounter with service staff upon entering, our group of 6 was relegated to a corner of the patio, where a group of wasps appeared to have already set up camp. Still, the wasps were more accommodating than the staff at least, and we were able to sit and co-exist somewhat peacefully. I will say this: we had three cocktails, and they were all very good. I am happy to offer this praise to the restaurant, to give them credit where credit is due. So why the single star, then, you might ask? Why not at least two? The thing is: the food was dismal, and since a restaurant (with 4.8 stars on Google I might add) is meant to specialize in food, then one has certain expectations. Three of our group of six ordered the pasta dish, with truffle. Truffle sounds nice right? And, if not for the undercooked pasta (and not in a sexy aldente kind of way) then it would have been nice! But how could we have known, since we were only served about three noodles per person, scraping the unnecessarily loud plates for the last drips of truffle sauce — not because of its overwhelmingly delicious taste, but for the fact that we were starving. The other dishes were fine, just fine, but portioned based on the 1990s heroine chic diet, apparently. Anyways. It’s all forgivable. I’ve had undercooked pasta, I’ve had awkward and unfriendly staff, and I’ve had small portions. But what was really abhorrent about the whole experience was the price. Upon receiving the bill, our eyes grew wide. The server was giving that look that one gives when they are trying nervously not to smile upon hearing devastating news. As a guest of my boyfriend’s family, I had very little control over the situation, but I felt extremely embarrassed and awkward. As my boyfriend’s mom paid, we all hesitantly gripped the table, smiled slightly — were we being punk’d? Alas, we were not. Famished, we went on our way, heading into to town to fill our empty bellies with a hearty stew from Nico’s Körriwurst, which was about 1/10th of the price for about 10x better food and service. Needless to say, unless you are looking for a place to truly throw your money away, Kochwerk should not be the place you go. I visited a number of spots in Zingst — most cheaper, some as pricey, but all much better in taste and service than here.”
