“Great location and amazing view! We took the sea view room and watched sunrise from the room. The castle itself was beautiful. We spent all day by the pool and went down the cliff for snorkeling. Breakfast had a lot of options and we had attentive service from the waitress. Hotel and the room looked a bit empty from the inside. It’d be nice to put more decorations and art work. Swimming pool looked very green, so we didn’t go in to swim. We had a great time staying here.”

“Just had a fabulous week at the Excelsior Palace. The location is superb and the swimming pool is large with lots of shade and the best view, the walk to the pool is just lovely. The rooms and bathrooms are large and very clean, breakfast was great and staff even arranged a very early one on our morning of departure. But the very best thing about this hotel is the Staff, they were so friendly, always available and so so helpful. The airport was closed so they worked really hard to arrange a transfer to Palermo. Nothing was too much trouble for them. A great place to stay, great value for money and the best Staff.”

“Beautiful resort located in the countryside next to Marinella city centre (close to Selinunte Archaeological Park). The resort style is a typical sicilian style with colourful tiles, wooden chairs, and decorations. Water is served constantly, sometimes flavoured with orange, lemons, and limes. My family and I book 3 days and two nights in two different standard rooms. The rooms were spacious and furnished in every little aspect (locker, fridge, shampoos, towels that were changed every day, etc.). The staff was helpful and gentle. However, the food at the restaurant wasn't as expected. There were several appetisers, not very rich in the flavour, and 3/4 main/side courses. As a sicilian, I would expect many typical dishes of my land. I felt disappointed. In general, the food quality was appreciated, but the taste wasn't really there. During the day, there were many events located in the main pool (acqua gym, games, singing and dancing), while at nighttime at the amphitheatre, there were nice spectacles. In general, I would say I had a beautiful experience, probably not the best choice for young people, especially for the activities and environment. Enjoy it!!”

“My husband and I stayed in the deluxe spa room while on our honeymoon, and it was perfect. The room itself was beautiful, but it also had its own private rooftop balcony, hot tub, and view of the sea. The breakfast was delicious, and there are lots of other shops and restaurants within walking distance. The concierge helps us book a couples massage and a private boat tour while we were there. Our return flight was delayed by a day, and they were able to extend our booking and reschedule our shuttle to the airport.”

“A huge resort that had its glory way back in time, somewhere between the 80s and the 90s. Since then nothing has been updated and kept in good condition. We had a room with no balcony but a window opening to a roof covered with stones. The staff are hit and miss - ranging from the very friendly and helpful gentlemen at the reception to the rude, annoyed and grimacing ones in the restaurant, the ladies at reception and the beach attendants. Food is varied and pretty tasty but prepare to fight with the locals who have no idea what manners are. Water is also something the management should think of - at breakfast they open single bottles at the buffet and all guests have to pour in paper cups, very unhygienic and generates huge amounts of waste. We were scolded a couple of times when we took the whole bottle for our table of 8. The beach is with big stones everywhere and makes walking and getting into the water quite difficult. For some reason the lifts to the beach are out of use and you have to sign in advance for a shuttle that works from 9 Am to 1 pm and afterwards from 3 pm to 7 pm. There is also a paid shuttle to the nearest village for 3 Euros return price. All in all if not on a very good and cheap deal not worth it!”

The hotel staff also took care of booking the flight and the scooter for us, thus offering a very convenient and fast service. The hotel is very nice and is located in a quiet and strategic position to reach the most beautiful beaches but also the center of Lampedusa. Our room located on the first floor was quite spacious, completely renovated, with contemporary furnishings, equipped with everything you need and very clean. With the dinner which includes a starter, a choice of two first courses, two second courses and dessert or fruit, we were able to appreciate the excellent local cuisine with fresh fish every evening. Even at breakfast nothing is missing with homemade desserts of different types. The property also features a wellness centre.
