“Fantastic hotel located next to Kyoto Station. It's unassuming façade belies the amazing central lobby build around a central space. Immediately one is transported form the busyness and hassle of the crowded street into a mindful quietude. The staff speaks English and are always polite, helping with restaurant booking and and gave good advice on train booking. It was a normal king size bed-room. The room is large and clean, and has a nice floor space enough to do some exercise. Housekeeping is responsive with requests and it was most enjoyable when they send things to your room with the little very polite robot! Do also go admire the lobby of the ornate and similarly beautifully appointed sister hotel next door - The Century Kyoto.”

“The rooms are cute and well decorated, but lacked a bit of space and counters to put out clothes and other items. Because of the lack of floor space, we could only really have one suitcase open at a time, and barely had room to store the other suitcases. The bathroom was large and spacious with a really nice wooden bath tub. The shower seemed like an after thought in the corner and didn't have a door so water would get everywhere outside the space of the shower. Our room faced a daycare and only had light curtains to cover the windows. If we wanted privacy, we had to close the paper panels which cuts off half the room from our bed area. The service was normal and it didn't seem that the staff went out of their way to go above and beyond, so nothing memorable about that. The check in counters are all the way to the right when you first walk in which confused us when looking to check in. The location is about a 10-20 minute walk from the Kyoto station depending on how fast you walk. Don't be fooled by the temple - it actually is pretty large and takes some time to walk past, especially if it's the end of the day and you're tired. We did our laundry at a coin place 10 minutes away in a residential area which was very pretty but we didn't find anything nearby that was conveniently outside. It's not a bad location, but I would consider staying closer to the attractions next time.”

We had the tatami flooring room and it was quite nice and modern looking. Room was equipped with nespresso pods which is good. Public bath is nice and clean. The men side has a sauna, ice bath, hot bath, and an outdoor hot bath (this I like a lot) Free coffee, water, juice basically all day long.”

The facility itself is wonderful, clean, safe and you have everything you need; but the staff is what really made my experience. They went above and beyond to help me on multiple occasions. I also worked for the entire week I was there and had 0 connectivity issues, quiet space issues, etc. I was so comfortable and felt so at peace. It really felt like my Kyoto home. Also, everything is walking distance! 5 to 45 minutes to all the best stuff. But there is trains and buses conveniently there if you aren't a walker. Stay here!”

“Finally, a true 4 star hotel in Japan, with decent access to local attractions. Comfortable and fluffy feather blankets and pillows to compliment an actual comfortable bed, lots of room, huge, modern bathroom with a great upscale shower and tub area. Real multi-ply toilet paper. Decent price. If the rooms had their own microwave, or at least access on one of the floors (you have to ask the front desk to use the microwave as it stands), this hotel would be perfect. Walls are actually soundproofed. Lobby is nice and modern, staff are attentive and helpful, with many skilled English speaking staff. When I travel, I want to have something comparable to what I have at home, and this hotel didn't disappoint! Looking forward to finishing out my stay here and this makes me excited to check in to their Akihabara location!”

“Spent a night at this onsen resort near Kyoto and although it wasn’t the best I’ve ever stayed but I would say there are many great elements about it. As soon as you stepped right into the hotel premises, you will be greeted by a beautiful garden, followed by a modern lobby / reception that has large window walls to connect with the outdoor garden. I been told many of the rooms have been renovated but the one I stayed wasn’t. Regardless, the room I stayed was still beautiful with its traditional ambiance. It had mountain views and I can see the tree leaves started to change colors. My room also got a little outdoor onsen tub; the pros was definitely the convenience and total privacy but the cons was that the resort located right next to a major expressway, can hear noises of rolling tires constantly while soaking in the private hot spring tub. The resort’s Japanese restaurant was located on the lowest level. It had a very modern, chill aura. And each table was designed to have its own total privacy. Dinner was fabulous with many flavorable dishes. The only complaint I have was the wage beef. First of all, it was extremely fatty. Secondly, it might be the airflow, my beef just wasn’t grilling, unlike my friend who got crispy steaks, mine were barely cooked, looked dull and tasted extremely oily. Breakfast was equally great and I love the steamed tofu. It was so soft and silky. In short, the food quality of this hotel was outstanding but as mentioned before, it was right next to an major road. Once you stepped outside, can hear the tire noises right away.”
