My grandson unfortunately fell of his bike, within minutes an ambulance was called, he was taken with his mother to a hospital where he received the best possible treatment. When given the all clear at 1o'clock in the morning two staff members drove 30 minutes to collect them both to save us packing up our camping car. What more could you possibly ask for. “We went to Bistro Saint Claire with high hopes and on recommendation but we’re sadly disappointed. The staff was pleasant enough and the space was nice but that’s where it ended. Our cocktails tasted watered down, the apps were bland and dinner was not at all what we expected. The risotto was nothing special and the beef was so tough and stringy it was a challenge to chew it. We both left half our dinners on our plates and were made to feel somewhat bad by the waiter for not finishing, which was by choice. For all the hype and price this place misses the mark.”

“Not recommending the hotel. Was stuck over an hour at midnight as the card key was deactivated. They didn't know how to handle the situation as they left a junior with no contact phone and no instruction. He told me at one point that he couldn't do anything (which was leaving me with no room with all my luggage in the room). Had to tell him how to fix it. Apparently, it is regular. When I told the manager in the morning, she was quite aggressive and couldn't care less. Room is ok but there are 4* hotels way better in Rouen for the same price. Location is good as you are in the city center.”

“This is a really lovely hotel. The staff are wonderfully helpful and polite. The scenery is beautiful in the summer months amd the surrounding areas and town are lovely places to visit although you need a car to get around. The rooms are very nice and beds are comfortable. The only gripe is we didn't have a shower in our room (just a bath with shower head that didn't attach to the wall). The breakfast was amazing. The building is spectacular and a real gem We really enjoyed our stay.”

“I enjoyed the location by the marina and easy walk around town. I initially picked the hotel because it is advertised in several places that parking is free which it definitely was not. I asked the hotel staff how much I would have to pay and was told it would be 15Euro per night. However, when I left, I was charged about 9 - for 2 days of parking. I don't know if that was because of the time of year (late October) and there were not many cars parking there or if I was quoted incorrectly. Just plan on having to pay something to park there or try to find parking in the free areas a little further away (and those were full when I was there). The room is pretty basic and I didn't like that the window was rather high up so when I sat at the table, I couldn't look out - had to stand to enjoy the view. The bathroom was tight - and hard to get in/out of shower without getting water everywhere.”

The staff were friendly enough on arrival but when we said we couldn’t connect to wifi we got little more than a shoulder shrug. There was mouldy sealant round the bathtub, a missing bedside shelf that had been ripped off and not replaced, no bath mat, a smelly hallway, and a general air of complete neglect.
