“We loved our stay at Dolce Vita! Fantastic heated pool and outdoor patio and dining overlooking les Iles Sanguinaires - perfect at sunset! A nice little waterfront area for a dip in the sea and snorkeling. (For a real beach, though, you'll want to just walk down the street to neighboring sand beaches). The owner was on site each day and was a very friendly and wonderful host. He's done great things with the hotel and still says it's a work in progress, which I appreciate, as it adds a really personal touch and shows his passion for his hotel. Rooms were very comfortable and well-designed. Location is excellent - just 10-mins drive from the hustle and bustle of Ajaccio centre ville and on a nice quiet stretch of endless beaches. We would absolutely come back if we're in Ajaccio again!”

“The rooms are pretty old and badly maintained. The room where I stayed had a water drainage issue in the shower. The mirror was broken and the shower door didn’t close. The breakfast room also has hygiene issues. Dogs and cats allowed in the serving area and also the kitchen, breakfast items are uncovered. We were served a old baguette for days which was so hard to cut and eat. The road leading to the hotel is also very scary - especially at night. Dogs and cats peed and pooped in the property and nobody cared about it. Wifi is only available in public places. In the room, there’s no wifi.”

The water pressure in the shower was a bit weak. The front desk lady was really friendly and helpful and helped us sorting out a small problem with our reservation. “What an amazing and wonderful time I had here. Myself and wife stayed here recently for our honeymoon and it was my first time abroad from Ireland. Think of it like this, flying scares me but the journey when I reached this hotel and Corsica was absolutely worth it. It is close to the airport and very convenient but you cannot hear the airplanes and very peaceful. It is in Ricantu but very close to Ajjaccio. The train which is easily accessed behind the hotel can take you to Ajjaccio in just 7 minutes or further into Corsica if you like. We visited Corte which is beautiful. This was recommended to us by the lady at reception. She was very helpful indeed, friendly. I like to try speaking French and even though I had a choice to speak English the lady at reception helped me speak French and was very encouraging😁. All the staff were great. The food, pool, bar, restaurant, location just everything was perfect! We were very lucky with the beautiful weather all week in August. Breakfast outside in the morning was lovely. Corsica in general looks beautiful and the people are very friendly. Would I return to this hotel? Yes indeed I absolutely would and highly recommend it. If you read about Corsica being very expensive, not true! I found the prices no different from the UK or Ireland. Thank you Hotel Campo Dell'Oro for a wonderful time🙏.”

“The hotel is lovely, the reality more than matches the images on the website. What made our trip really outstanding though was the kind helpfulness of the staff, both in reception and in the restaurants and bar. Nothing was too much trouble. We arranged scooters (delivered to the hotel) and scuba diving - both great successes. Finally, when they were unable to find a taxi to take us to the airport, one of the staff took us in their car, and refused any payment. I could go on. I can't recommend it enough.”

However I had to make an exception for La Signoria. After spending a few days in a local spot on the island we wanted to treat ourselves on a stay at the treehouse and some luxury. However this hotel was in every aspect a big disappointment, largely overpriced and not worth the credits of R&C. The airplanes from the nearby airport make a lot of noise and the pool smelled strange. The worst thing was the art made out of guns? It’s a shame, because the staff is friendly and Corsica is beautiful. However this place seemed more about making money than a creating an unforgettable experience for the visitors. Such a shame :(”
