“This was an excursion from the Norwegian cruise line. The food and beverages were excellent, but it was in no way worth the price we paid. If you are in a group like we were, make sure you try to get to the front and let them know. We had a group of 7 and the staff told us we needed to sit in 5 separate tables which completely takes away from the experience. After demanding that we be tabled together, they sent us to another room so in the end it was great!”

“This place exceeded our expectations! Our cabin next to the creek was perfect, with an incredible view! Two female best friends are the owners, and we met one of them, and she couldn't be any nicer or more genuine! She went around the cafe with her dog and spoke to everyone, to be sure they were happy. Best smoked salmon seafood chowder ever (in fact we had it the second day as well, along with great homemade bread)! And the warm welcoming chocolate chip cookies left in our cabin were delicious! Nice touch!”

“The rooms are absolutely awful, sorta like a Motel 6. No closet at all, but rather a "stand up credenza" type piece of furniture, which held very little. The bathroom door could NOT be closed unless you stepped into the bathroom FIRST, then you were able to shut the door to sit on the pot. The sink area was so narrow (maybe 24" wide), you could not spread your arms out without your elbows hitting the walls on either side of the sink. I think the "sink area" was once in a closet, reason it was so narrow. Meals were an expensive issue unless you were willing to spend $30 on a buffet breakfast (plus tax and tip), and $60 for a buffet dinner, even if you didn't want a buffet, you had no choice. The reception/front desk area was absolutely gorgeous, soaring 20' ceilings and great gift shop. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. But the hotel rooms were very disappointing. Unfortunately, there is no other place to stay.”

“You can’t beat the views. The ocean view is the best! The lodge has artifacts throughout each floor. It is all museum quality and very educational. There is a lot of pride shown in their displays. The restaurant in the lodge was good too. The service was a bit slow. The help liked to visit with each other too much, but the meals were satisfying but expensive. I would recommend staying here. You can watch eagles from your room and if yours are lucky, possibly see a whale service in the ocean. The pictures are views from our room window. Ketchikan is a wonderful Place to explore. Go anywhere in town and you can see salmon swimming, seals playing, jelly fish, and even whales surfacing.”

“We had a traumatic situation in which we were displaced due to a house fire (that was not our fault). We chose this hotel because it has a kitchenette. We didn't realize it literally has everything you need to make a home cooked meal. The night manager Luke is always clean cut, collected and kind. His humor has brought us many great laughs which are desperately needed at this time. He's always accommodating us although respectful but not overly friendly. The perfect mix of professionalism and friendliness. Barbara the day manager/receptionist is so quick to work with us on little things. The house keepers are friendly and do such a wonderful job. I don't hear drama, just hard working individuals. Every time I pass a room being cleaned they are just working away. We have stayed in some 3-4 star hotels that were completely dirty and gross... And couldn't be happier with our choosing of this one. Although we know this is a temporary stay, I kind of wish we could rent an apartment here. The folks have made our difficult time much more manageable even without knowing our situation. I hope people treat these kind individuals with great respect... And please as guests, clean up after yourself. They ain't yo momma!”

“My stay here was nice. The people are SO friendly. I was happy to find out that they offered pick up and drop off to the airport for guests. There was always someone at the front desk in case I needed anything. The units were spacious and had everything I needed. And it is really nice that they offer phone call service for Aurora alerts if you don't mind being woken up at 2 or 3 am. It's a great way to ensure you don't miss the lights.”

“Now, I'd give this place 4.5 stars if I could. The reason for only 4 stars on service is due to the amount of guests allowed in the 2 bdrm suite is different at the hotel vs online. When booking online, 8 guests are allowed. When I arrived to check-in I was sternly told that only 5 guests are allowed and IF they find out that I'm lying, the card on file will be charged an additional $250! I am an Alaskan resident, and as such, I did what many others have and will continue to do so. I booked a room so that my kids could enjoy an evening swimming at a pool for their birthday. I understand why it's frowned upon when a resident books a room, but I know that we did not look the part of a rowdy crowd for that type of stern warning. Other than that, the place was great. My kids loved the pool and the rooms. They were decent sizes, clean and with adequate extra linens.”

“I cannot recommend this beautiful place enough! We didn’t stay because the night we were interested, it was already booked. But we stopped in at the bar and got a hot cocoa and the bartender Katelyn was amazing, friendly, and made us feel right at home. When I told her it was me and my husband’s honeymoon, she even gave me the hot cocoa on the house. Next time we’re in Alaska, we will definitely stay here.”

“Gosh, I can never forget this place as it is the place we’re we saw the perfect display of northern lights. We just check in and was talking to the lady at the counter about when and where to see the lights. 5 min after we go into the room, she knocks on our door to tell us that lights are out !!! The lodge is perfectly located that it provides darkness to see the northern lights at the same time, it is close to Denali to visit for hike and all. One of the best stay. Rooms are really spacious and special thanks to the staff for informing us about northern lights.”

“While the cabins are a nice touch our room had hair in the tub, the previous guests dirty wash cloth on the shower curtain rod, the previous guest damp shower towel on the back of the door. Makes me concerned about if the sheets were even changed before they rented it to us. If you care about cleanliness go else where. No to mention the food prices at the restaurant is wildly wildly higher than every other place around. The food is good but no where near that good.”
