“I loved my stay at this hotel. Great value for the price paid. Staff were great, room with washer was super convenient. The noise from train that other reviewers mentioned isn't too bad. Unless you're an ultra light sleeper it shouldn't cause too much of a problem. Only con for me is that it's not super close to the train station, about a 10-15 min walk, so can be a bit troublesome with luggage. But again this is a very small issue because the location was still great surrounded by little cafes/food places and convenience stores.”

I had to clean the floor off when going out of the shared bath to ensure my feet stayed clean after taking a bath. Only two elevators feel insufficient when the hotel is fully booked. The waiting time is long and the corridor is gloomy. Only the location is five stars. I am disappointed because when I stayed in the same hotel in Tokyo I felt it was of a higher standard than this.”

The rooms are small but similar to other business hotels in the region and more than adequate for a short stay of a few days. The level of service is warm and professional at this property and I was particularly impressed with the young South Asian gentleman at reception who assisted with storing my luggage 🧳 before check-in and helped to organise onward transport to the international ferry terminal. A highlight of a stay at this hotel is the eponymous breakfast which is served buffet style in the restaurant adjacent to the hotel lobby. There are many healthy interesting options including buffet stations where the staff will prepare customised salads 🥗 , smoothies 🥤 and breakfast pizzas 🍕 . Decent coffee ☕ is also served as well as sparkling wine 🥂🍾 for those seeking a more decadent start to the day.”

I requested for a high level room and they were able to meet it but there is not much view. “We spent 2 nights here and maybe could have stayed a bit longer. As the hot springs were great. There are 3 hot springs available, one only for woman. And two hot springs which are everyday changed between a woman and a man hot spring. Obviously, I can't say too much about the woman only place, but as I had the chance to visit the two alternating spas - both were good, whereby may favorite was the larger one. Not necessarily due the size, but it's location in a park-like surroundings, with many trees and corners inviting you to take a break from the baths, sauna and the time passed quickly. We also enjoyed a classical Kaiseki Dinner. which was nicely presented and tasted great. The service was nice, a bit fast in the beginning, but they slowed down, when we asked. Regretfully they only offer this type of dinner in the evening, in 2 variations. But there are a few small, simple places around. The breakfast buffet again is nice. We started the day at 5 ~ 6 am in the hot spring, then went for breakfast. A great way to start the day. The hotel is located in a lovely area, which invites to walk around, along the river, where many birds can be watched.”
