“Loved everything about my stay here, came from Maryland in May 2023 for an entire week. Have no complaints. We had the two bedroom two bathroom suite. The room was great. The free breakfast was wonderful. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Location was great, very close to 95. Easy access to stores (Target, Walgreens etc) Will stay there again if I return to the area.”

“The Archer hotel was a so-so stay for my husband and I. When we first got there, the man who greeted us to check-us in ignored us for a solid minute as we stood there and then rudely said one minute finally as we still waited hands full of bags. He was not the most friendly person for us to encounter after 6 hours of driving. Nonetheless, the hotel itself was nice and atmosphere seemed cool. The room was clean, but very much on the small side. The bed was comfortable enough, but the pillows were way too soft for our liking (personal preference of course). The biggest drawback though is the noise. The rooms are VERY much not sound proof and we heard everything going on out in the hall. This was quite annoying especially when it was 11 AM and we heard some lady cursing out drunk in the hall. Also, there was only 1 wireless phone charger in the room and no cables for the plug-ins. We had to bring cables in from our car to be able to charge both our phones. The slippers in the bathroom were a nice bonus, but nothing crazy just thin bottoms. Overall, we would not stay again, but it was a decent enough for our needs.”

Most helpful staff member from many Marriott stays we have had over the years. Building is older, but very clean, and the staff have good attention to detail and it shows. “If I had the choice I'd rate the Kendall 4.5. My king superior room was plenty spacious, comfortable and quiet. I took advantage of the ability to visit the Cambridge Athletic Club. The nightly happy hour is a nice touch but, then again, it's the same two pours and roasted nuts every night. Ditto with breakfast, which has been mentioned in this space, becomes monotonous after a couple of days. Same everything from the choice of two teas, to the mini cranberry scones, to the scrambled eggs, etc. By my third morning I made other breakfast arrangements because I just couldn't get excited about the bowl of muesli (no other cereal choices). The missing element was hospitality. The place feels very transactional. When I saw a staff member I never saw a smile or got a warm welcome. The hotel needs to work on that.”

“Perfect area to be close enough to Boston, Salem, etc without being too far. Our room had a full kitchen, couch, dining table, workspace, great shower, etc. Breakfast was always good. The people at the front desk were always super helpful. Target is very close by, as well as many food options. I'll stay here again if I ever end up that way.”

“Second time in span of two months staying at this hotel as it is close to sons school with reasonable priced rooms though a bit on the smaller side. Hotel is clean, well maintained and location is good. They have breakfast in the morning that is complimentary. Do not hear much of the outside noise being that you have train and streets surrounding the hotel. White noise machine provided in rooms. My only two issues with this hotel is that both times when I checked into my room, the air was never on so the rooms were very muggy and hot. Took a bit to get it to comfortable temperature. Second, issue is the $40 parking charge and the fact that if you do not get a spot early, good luck fitting your can anywhere. If you lucky enough to get a corner spot anywhere in the lot, don't move your car. I will give credit to one of the staff members that came out late night and directed me to park right on the other side of the parking lot as she saw no one else was fitting their car anywhere.”

“Room was fine except the sudden clock alarm at 4am that I couldn't figure out how to shut off. I couldn't even pull the plug easily because of was under the bed. Your could hear the noise from the highway as mentioned in other reviews but it was not so loud that it was disruptive, more of a constant white noise. Bathroom seemed clean until I went to shower and saw hair in the on the wall. The fridge seemed high tech with an on/of button and a quick freeze option so I wasn't positive if it was working when I put leftovers inside. Breakfast in the bistro was good but a little pricy for what it was. I was concerned when I heard the woman mention going next door to Holiday Inn to get bacon since I know those buffets are low quality and I was paying for "farm fresh" . Very friendly guys working there.”

“Overall would give it zero stars. Absolutely disgusting. Hallways smelled like garbage, seafood, rotten milk and cooking smells. Sketchy vibe. Hallway garbage cans were over filled. Floors were dirty. Our room was actually nice, the bed was comfortable, but we left after only two days due to the smell and the sketchiness. Only felt safe in our room with the door locked. Gym facility looked okay, but I wouldn’t use it no towels or sanitizer spray on top of the horrible smells in the hallways. When we were about to leave our room to checkout housekeeping knocked on our door, we told them that we were vacating the room in two minutes. They knocked again and insisted that they come in to check the fire alarm. Once in the room they said this will take only two seconds and they proceeded to set the fire alarm off repeatedly. We quickly grabbed our stuff and left. Went and stayed at a much better Hilton hotel in the next town. Never will stay at any Homewood Suites again! First and last time for me.”

“Parking included! That was the only reason we stayed here instead of the 7 other similarly priced well rated hotels near North Station and Cambridge. The hotel is nice. Clean and updated. Service was good. Nothing over the top, but still a very nice place to stay, and a solid value. Convenient location right across from the science museum and planetarium. Next door to a train stop, but thankfully, quiet inside. Breakfast included as well! That was a buffet of waffles, toast, eggs, sausage, yogurt, fruit, and pastries. It's 10-15 minute walk from the TD Garden area, a 10-minute walk to the Cambridge Crossing Mall area, and a 5 minute or less walk to a plaza with a large grocery store and a few restaurants. Add the convenience of the train, and you could use this as a hub for business or pleasure travel. Bring the kids. It should be noted that there is limited space in the parking garage. Less spaces then hotel rooms, and it's first come, not reserved spots. Keep this in mind as street parking times might not work for your schedule. If you can get it, indoor parking is nice to have.”

“Had a great experience at this Hyatt. Duke who works the PM shift was amazing and very professional and courteous. We stayed a few nights and halfway through the house keeper knocked and offered a fresh set of towels which we thought was amazing. The inner courtyard is perfect for walking small dogs safely at all times of day. The outer perimeter also has enough landscaping to easily walk your larger dogs quickly. Breakfast was typical for a Hyatt and everything was kept fresh and stocked. Outdoor pool is only open during the warmest months if ever.”

“Stayed at this funky hotel as a home base to go in and out of Cambridge. The staff couldn't have been nicer and more efficient. The rooms were pristine, especially since this is a remodel of previous structure. Breakfast was superb. The selection pastries alone should sell one on a stay here. Our room over looked the river and park across the street. Even though we had our window open for air, the traffic noise didn't bother us. Everywhere you looked you were surrounded by creativity. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Would absolutely stay here again.”

“Enjoy the experience of a dilapidated building... for $200 per night. But wait, act now and get shady characters (not under the control of the hotel, I realize that) and outside and inside room doors that have to be pulled to latch. So the outer door to the hallway was always open. Marvel at the hastily installed shoring that hopefully supports the concrete, chipped paint walkways... This place is the epitome of run down. It looks like it should be condemned - and it's really awful. 2 stars because the room I got wasn't that bad, and the front desk staff was friendly. Housekeeping was loud. They could get another star if this place was $60 per night, but it's not - $200 per night to see peeling wallpaper, aluminum carpet joint strips not bolted to the floor, rotten wood, and mud. See the pictures... It's not pleasant outside the room (which could be picked apart at that price point, but no sense in piling on). I accidentally showed up at the other Residence Inn because I didn't pay attention to where I booked, and they thought this one had been closed. That should have told me something... The area is generally blighted, and nearby hotels in the immediate vicinity are bad (unless you like to experience the opioid epidemic up close and personal). Do yourself a favor and find a hotel 5 miles away in any direction. I can't imagine this place will be open much longer. There is a Cracker Barrel next door that can be walked to. (I had to say something nice). In short, find another hotel. This is a disgrace to Marriott. (The nearby Holiday Inn express is a disgrace to IHG, so it seems to be the general area).”
