7 Pl. Saint-Tanguy, 29217 Plougonvelin, France

“Lovely and beautiful hotel with a great view. But when very hot as this July (30 plus) the room was impossible to stay during day and just very hot during night. The hotel should provide a fan as no aircon installed but when asked no fan was provided. A pity as the place is great and the food lovely - but hard to sleep for two days reduce the overall to two stars. If not a hot day by all means go for this 😜”

Rue de la Grève du Man, 29250 Saint-Pol-de-Léon, France

“We stay here most years, generally for 3 nights as it has great access to take the dog to the vets before using the ferry. This year we spent 3 weeks as we wanted easy access for boat launching. The campsite is by the sea, separated from the beach by a quiet road. There are beautiful views from the site and the surrounding area of St Pol de Leon has lovely dog walks, plenty of swimming spots and is very well situated for supermarkets restaurants etc. It is only a 5 minute cycle into town. The site is small, spotlessly clean and run by the lovely Edouard and Valerie. They speak good English and are very helpful. The plots are flat and separated by hedges with a choice of sunny or shady spots. The reception closes for 2 hours at lunchtime and the facilities close for 3 hours for cleaning. There is a lovely small swimming pool and comfy sun loungers. September is the tail end of the season so the on-site snack bar has variable opening hours but these times are always clearly communicated in advance on the board outside of reception and with 4 cafe/restaurants within 5 mins walk it’s really not a problem that it is not always open. We love the sites quiet simplicity and friendly atmosphere; we will keep returning!”

“This is the perfect place to stay if you have an awkward ferry time, or simply want to extend your stay in France. Roscoff has a wealth of glorious historic buildings, fine dining, crepes/pizza and lots of seaside/sailing themed gift shops. The hotel was very welcoming, spotlessly clean, lovely decor and very comfortable beds. The breakfast was delicious too. Highly recommend.”

7 Rue de la Plage, 29550 Plomodiern, France

“Fabulous restaurant. We had the lunch menu and it is worth every penny. Well deserved 2 Michelin stars. I highly recommend booking a table. Only downside: glass of wine a bit expensive. Oh and it is 2016, stop giving menus without prices to ladies.”

Camping La Rivière D'argent
4.2
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 04:00 PM

La Coudraie, 29690 Huelgoat, France

“We stayed in the Eco Lodge for a night. The location is magnificent, your view is towards woods and a tiny stream, lots of wildlife to be seen if you are quiet enough. The lodge itself is a type of wooden glamping tent, equipped with a basic kitchen set for cooking (no water) and a bed. Unfortunately there's no way to make a draft through the place (the only thing that opens is the door), so it was quite hot, especially after cooking our dinner. The bed was really comfortable. The welcome was sort of lacking, people spent a lot of time waiting by a closed door because nobody was available to help them, since from what I saw only one person was working (welcoming guests, working the bar, dealing with electricity issues etc etc). I guess they weren't prepared to have as many visitors so early in June.”

Camping Trez Rouz

“The location by Trez Roux beach is great but each of our three nights sleep was disturbed by: helicopters circling low over the campsite (two nights), they were really loud and kindof unnerving, and the third night it was rifle fire going off around midnight. No idea if this is a regular occurrence ☹️”

L'hôtel De Carantec
4.4
( 16 reviews )

20 Rue du Kelenn, 29660 Carantec, France

“Terrible service. Disintegrating pillows. The restaurant prioritises bookings from non-hotel guests so there is no point staying at the hotel if the restaurant is your primary goal. We booked this hotel for our anniversary as it was one out of three hotels with Michelin star restaurants in Bretagne that is within 1 hour drive of our family holiday beach house. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon between 3-4 PM and were greeted with a completely empty establishment. There was no staff present on site, however we saw our name on post-it notes with a key so we grabbed one. We went to the back to admire the view of the ocean from the restaurant next to the lobby, and walked back to the car to pick up our luggage. Upon entering the lobby again, we were rudely accosted by a female staff in her 40-50s who shouted at us to approach the desk at once and announce ourselves. We told her that we saw our names on the post it and took our key, and upon without any ID check - she just gave us our keys to a room we never proved was ours. We could have been anyone. We then asked if we could eat at the restaurant that evening as every time we called the hotel in the past 2 weeks there was no answer. She said that's not possible. Our relatives in France (and our experience on previous travels) mentioned that it would be standard procedure to allow hotel guests a reservation spot at the restaurant in the establishment. She told us she'll try and call the chef and let us know later. We went to our room and freshened up and waited for her call/ notification for a couple of hours. Dinner time starts to loom and we have no certainty on whether we need to make an alternative booking elsewhere. We decided to pop down and ask her how this went. She wasn't at the lobby but we managed to find her in the kitchen of the restaurant area. We asked what the chef said - and she just shrugged her shoulders and said "no clue, the chef didn't pick up his phone." At this point, it started to dawn on us that our trip to Carantec might have been for nothing after all. She tried calling him again and then told us to wait in the garden outside overlooking the beach. The scenery was lovely - but not any more special than any other coastline views in other parts of Bretagne. After waiting for 30 minutes, we thought maybe she forgot about us again - so we went back inside and asked. She did. She has since moved on to pottering about other things (there were no other guests present at this point, so she wasn't exactly busy dealing with other guests). She then said the chef has arrived and went to speak to him and after some discussion in French they said no. We had to wait 2.5 hours for a no - and by this point dinner time was fast approaching so we had to make an alternative booking in a small town with limited choices. Thankfully we did! And had the best time at a local restaurant with lovely modern dishes. We were just astounded by how rude and unhelpful the staff was. When we came back to the hotel we noticed that all of the guests at the restaurant were not staying at the hotel. So there really is no point or perk in staying at this hotel if you're mainly there for the restaurant. The room itself was small, but with great views of the coast. That said the pillows were so poor they must have been from the 1990s. Each pillow was disintegrating completely and was clumpy with bits here and there. The next day upon check out, a different staff member told us we haven't paid - when we have paid for it all online under Hotels.com. She called them to confirm and apologised to us. She then said we should have left a credit card detail upon check-in, but at no point was this asked from us by the rude staff from the previous afternoon. So after paying a small amount for city tax we left this awful establishment. Definitely will not be going back. Will not be recommending this place to anyone else either.”

Hôtel Restaurant D'ar-men
4.2
( 16 reviews )

Rue Fernand Crouton, 29990 Île-de-Sein, France

“A wonderful hotel, "down to earth", with the charme of french rural tradition. It is beautifully located with an exceptional sea view. The rooms are small, but with a lovely maritime spirit. Enjoy your stay with a great supper with a lobster ragout, the local specialty. The staff is very kind and helpful. In total: we enjoyed every single minute.”
