“Made a pre-paid reservation for our son. When he arrived at the hotel he was unceremoniously denied entry because he was under 21. This rule of the hotel is hidden under drop-down lists, and the staff at the hotel were absolutely rude to both him and me when we were asking simple questions to clarify what we could do. Rather than promptly refund our money for the reservation THEY were refusing to honor, we were told to call back tomorrow and then hung up on. DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU CARE ABOUT DECENT SERVICE.”

“It would’ve been nice if people are told that the pool here is “under construction,” although the room we received was pretty good after the long wait because between RCI and the hotel they couldn’t figure out what booking we had (a 2 bed btw). That said, everything else about the hotel is positive. The beach and ocean view from here is simply breath-taking and the amenities, decent.”

“We had a wonderful stay here at the Black Dolphin Inn! My husband works in a hospital and his schedule can be rather wonky but we actually both had a day off on the same day and we got lucky that the Black Dolphin Inn also had a room available for the evening. Our last minute getaway was perfect. The room was clean and super cute. Our breakfast was delicious. The staff is welcoming and friendly. We are so happy to have found a great place to escape the stresses of daily life. Wonderful property! We will definitely return! Thank you Brett!”

“I highly recommend staying here for Daytona Beach and I will stay here again on my next trip through. Everyone on staff were friendly, helpful, and prompt with their service. The rooms were clean and put together. The bed was also very comfortable. Understandably, the beach access was still closed from the 2022 hurricane and it might still be a while before it opens. They provided how to easily access the beach by foot or by vehicle that was within a few minutes from the hotel.”

“My husband and I have stayed at this hotel numerous times when we are doing business in the local area. The hotel is clean and comfortable plus close to everything. Our favorite team members are Jessica and Aaron. Jessica is always super friendly and helpful. You can actually tell that she's smiling even when she answers the phone. And the late night guy Aaron that checks us in most of the time is just simply awesome! Highly recommend this hotel!”

“Even though the pool and patio were being renovated due to the last hurricane, we were warned ahead of time, and they had plenty to do otherwise. They unfortunately were also working on redoing the floors, and that was VERY noisy during the day. Would not have been an issue otherwise. Staff was very accommodating and we were allowed an hour early check in, and they were able to change our floor to a higher one. Daytona Beach Shores is off the beaten track around Daytona without all the hustle and bustle. We realize we were there on a slow week, but we were VERY happy with our unit which happened to be a 2BR/2Bath end unit taking the entire side of the building. We were able to sit and watch both the sunsets and the rising of the moon on our balconies.”

“I just had my wedding on the beach as a guest of the motel. My experience could not have been more lovely. If you are looking for the charm of old Florida, this is your place. We had driven by for ten years and finally made the leap to stay. Sarah, Heather and the other wonderful ladies up front made our stay so wonderful. They checked several times to make sure there was nothing I needed during my "prep." I knew if I needed anything at all, one of them would find it for me. The rooms. Oh my word THE ROOMS. Not a single one is identical to any other room. They are all different and it is so refreshing! I stayed in the Sunrise Room facing the ocean and it was absolutely beautiful. You get a key in the form of an old relic, an actual key! The owner herself, Audrey, sent a magnificent bridal arrangement that was waiting in my room upon arrival. I cried. The pool is adorable. The tiny circle kiddie pool from days of yore is precious. There is an actual shuffleboard court which we did not get to partake in as we ran out of time. We took several of our wedding photos on the grounds and I cannot wait to get them back. There is NO other place like this in Daytona Beach or the Shores. I'm counting the days until I can retire and take out a timeshare with these lovely folks. You will fall in love with the grounds and the staff immediately.”

“What a Mess! Renovations are great but not while staying... Sorry it should be noted when making a reservation, why not? I'm sure it will be nice once it's all complete. But the whole place was a construction zone! The lobby, the reception desk, the breakfast room, the whole first floor including hallway to rooms, the elevators, and even the 4th floor where my room was. I would think it was the same for all floors in between... It is nice to see this location get the update it so needs but why not confine and isolate it to from the rest of the hotel. Does the whole place have to be done at once, obviously the owner thought so, but how about closing down then and get it done without inconveniencing the guest? I recommend calling ahead to see if construction is done before booking. I will too before returning here!”

“I don't recommend staying here. There was mold on the ceiling in the room and on the baseboards in the hallways, and it had a really musty smell. The toilet in the bathroom was so small, think preschool sized, low to the ground, tiny toilet, and should really not be in hotel rooms for adults. The room had 2 double beds. I don't think that really registered when I made the reservation because you're so used to seeing queen beds, but trust me, it makes all the difference in the world. If you could see the room you would understand why. There's no way possible that you could fit 2 queens in this room. They should have never even tried to put 2 double beds in this room because you couldn't walk around. This room is designed for 1 Queen size bed. The desk in the room is on the outer wall, and there is no way possible to sit at it, unless you are 1- dimensional, as the back of the chair is up against the side of the bed. Good luck getting into the closet to put your suitcase up, because you have to go between the desk, chair and bed to get there. With your suitcase. Don't even get me started on the bill. They billed my dogs for a 2 night stay, and even charged them occupancy tax and sales tax. I had to call and get that refunded. Somehow I don't think it was a "mistake" like they claim that it was. If you decide to stay here, don't say you weren't warned. The Home2Suites across the street is much nicer. Stay there. You'll be glad you did.”

“Small quaint hotel with walkout balcony on the ocean. A little older and some of the wear and tear was obvious. If you are looking for a modern and busy area this is not for you but for us it was perfect. The staff was wonderful and helped us acquire another night after a race rain delay. They had a nice continental breakfast and the rooms were equipped with a small kitchen. Even though the beach access was closed, their is a public entry just one hotel down. Very budget friendly and would definitely stay here again. Thanks for making our rainy stay pleasant and enjoyable.”

“We usually stay at another hotel but while we were looking there were some issues so we found this hotel and decided to try it out. The lady at the front desk was extremely helpful. The room was beautiful the layout was somewhat different but it worked very well. We ended up having a room that was not beachside but that really didn't matter. The hot tub was very enjoyable and it was not too hot so I was able to enjoy it. The location is something that you could not and it was not too hot so I was able to enjoy it. The location is extremely accessible you're right there where everything is you can walk to the boardwalk you don't have to find parking over there and pay when you can leave your vehicle in the parking lot at the hotel and enjoy the day at the beach and the boardwalk.”

“Friendly and attentive staff but the park itself is pretty bad. None of the roads are paved and all are very narrow, have huge potholes and lumps, and the trees are growing like ver the top and into the roadways making it extremely difficult to get your RV in and out safely. RVs are packed in with very little space or privacy. Barely enough room for one vehicle to park next to your RV. Makes maneuvering even more difficult.”

“View was spectacular, Staff was friendly, the price was great, the room was convenient with stove and refrigerator. The beds where clean And comfortable. The plumbing is a bit outdated. First day, I showered and couldn't shut off the water, It was broken, Which should have been checked, before I arrived. But they where quick to repair it. Most hotel pools are out of service because of the storm But the beach was open. Staff is very friendly. I'll be going back in May 2023..”

“This is not one of your high-end types of hotels it's very simple, located exactly where I wanted to be. Prices are reasonable and the big plus is you have daily housekeepers. Something I have not seen since before Covid. What a nice feeling to come in and have fresh towels, clean sheets, (they even change them regularly), vacuum daily, dust daily, carpet is sprayed with freshener and your beds made, something that you'd expect from a major hotel which I have not seen in so long. It's so nice and the housekeepers are helpful, courteous and thorough. It is so clean here, the last few higher end hotels that I've stayed in are not anywhere close as clean as this. The office manager / representative very helpful. I am definitely staying here again. This will be my go-to when I come to visit my son. I saw that their star ratings were around 3.9, I give it a SOLID 5. Highly recommended. I did take a video but it's longer than 30 seconds so you might only get to see a little bit of it. “This hotel was awful. When we first checked into our room, we couldn't find the remote and had to go to the front desk for a replacement. The following day we found it under the bed, which made it obvious our room was not cleaned before our stay. The pillows were plentiful but flat. There isnt even a chair in the room and we booked a king suite. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this hotel.”
