Hotel sits in the heart of downtown Montreal near many shops and restaurants. The staff is warm and friendly, not pretentious at all. “We love boutique quirky hotels and LePetite Hotel did not disappoint. The staff, especially Andrea, were friendly and professional. They gave us individual special attention. We loved not dealing with hotel carpeting and appreciated the hardwood floors..They provided a top sheet so we could sleep without the European duvet - which is good quality but too hot for us. The free breakfast is good enough but could benefit by providing some plain yogurt. Valet and check-in parking spot is across the street from front door (small sign). We had a room overlooking the alley - dark but very quiet. Recommend rooms for 2 be provided with two luggage racks. We requested a second which housekeeping happily provided. I thought I had left my new prescription sunglasses and they immediately responded to my message and looked for them. I can’t say enough about how well the staff took care of us! They were fabulous. Clean and comfortable with great local advice.”

“Location location location. This is in a great spot to stay near the old town but it’s had its flaws. Parking is pretty terrible when it’s a busy week in Montreal. Parking is EXTREMELY limited. Hotel had an issue with towels during our stay but rectified it eventually. The rooms were clean and updated enough. Breakfast wasn’t worth anything though. Not enough food for the guests and selection of nothing really.”

“I had the recent experience of staying at this boutique hotel for one night. Overall I love the hotel style which shows history, the tall ceiling, breakfast including how it was delivered (placed in a metal basket and on the door knob). The room was immaculate. The day I was there wasn't a day there would be parties, and there seemed to be fewer tourists around the old town, therefore I didn't experience any loud noises. It was a good short stay for me.”

“My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and had a very pleasant experience. The check in and check out process were smooth and directions were super clear. Though there are no crew on location after ~6 PM, I still got the support I needed. The room was clean and equipped with everything I needed. I loved everything about the room. The parking was right across the hotel. We paid $20 a day and it was convenient. also in walkable distance were many pubs and restaurants. It’s also close to many attractions. So 10/10 for location The sauna was compact and perfect. The hot tub in the terrace was great too. Will definitely stay here the next time we’re in Montreal”

“My family and I did not have a good experience at this hotel. When we checked in I specifically asked front desk if our vehicle would be in a safe secure location and they said yes. This was not the case, we woke up and looked out our window and saw hotel workers taping up our back passenger window. My parents immediately went down to lobby to find out what was going on. Someone had smashed it in so effectively they lied straight to my face about our vehicle being protected. They did refund the room and parking fee but by the time we were done making a police report and talking to our insurance we went to go get breakfast and they said they couldn’t give us anything at all to eat. Terrible customer service. We now have a week long vacation and a drive back to Ontario in front of us without a back passenger window and it is not warm out. Happy holidays! Adding onto the extra letters in a sentence. Hotel staff was rude and had no clue what was going on , could have asked them the most generic question and they still would have have dithers while new world. This hotel is literally trash do not stay here.”

“The apartment was wonderful, but the staff were the best. Staff were there refreshing furniture when we arrived. We were about 30 minutes early for our early check in, but they were kind enough to let us put our luggage down and change so we could explore. Every time we saw them during our stay, they were pleasant and genuinely curious how our stay was. We had one issue that they happily took care of (someone was smoking in the apartment downstairs and the smell was coming into one of the bedrooms). They not only spoke to that guest, but they also used something in the apartment to absorb the smell. The walls are a little thin, but they provide sound machines which I loved! The view was amazing and it was in an incredible location: near Victoria's square, Notre-Dame basilica, and old Montreal. We will definitely be coming back!”

“I would give zero stars if I could. I am writing this on Oct 4 ten minutes after the following happened. When I arrived I was told my room was given away. When I asked why I wasn’t told they said they had no number to contact me. This is not true because when I showed them I had a missed call from them (without a voicemail) they admitted it was their number. They had booked me a room in another hotel Downtown which was not convenient for me as I had booked an airport hotel due to a work commitment. When I asked to speak to the manager I was told he was gone for the day. Terrible experience.”

“Flew in and took a shuttle from the airport hoping to leave my luggage with the front desk but instead was offered an early, like really early check in. This definitely made my travel plans much better as I was able to settle in earlier and get my day going. Damian was working the desk and he was accommodating and welcoming. The room I had was modernized, clean and very spacious. Breakfast buffet is in the lobby & consists of croissants (the best one being chocolate croissants), muffins, cereal, eggs (boiled, scrambled or cheese omelette), oatmeal, meat that changed daily (I had turkey sausage one day and bacon the other), potatoes (home fries), waffle station, yogurt, coffee, tea, fruits, bread/bagel station & a juice station. After eating, you can leave the plates at the return station where cutlery and plating is sorted. Gym was on the 6th floor where you can also fill your water bottle. The gym was good for a hotel gym, empty most times which was great, lots of machines. I had a short but pleasant stay here. Definitely recommend.”

“I'm almost reluctant to post a review because I selfishly don't want this amazing secret to get out. If I could give Ambrose House more than 5 stars, I would. Every part of our experience was perfect. The room we stayed in (the family room) reminded us of flats in France, so spacious and with loads of original details. We had everything we needed (towels, toiletries, extra bedding,) and the employee who helped us was absolutely phenomenal. The cafe is absolutely charming and the coffee is fantastic, the location couldn't be more convenient, and there was plenty of free street parking available. I cannot overstate how much we loved staying at Ambrose, and we're already planning on next trip.”

“Bed was very comfy, even though it was just a full size. Next time I’ll be sure to look for Queen. Overall the hotel is old and can definitely use a spruce up. Bathrooms especially. Breakfast is okay. Tho I asked in advance for gluten free bread - and they were unable to provide. No effort was made to obtain this. It’s also a bit noisy so bring earplugs if you’re a sensitive sleeper. Staff was all wonderful and very nice. I do recommend they update the hotel with a lick of paint and some nice fillers around bathtub and faucets. It’s old but comfy. I wouldn’t go back as I do feel price wise it should have been better. Especially when you look at the website pics. I expected a lot nicer look in person. Croissants 🥐 were yummy at the breakfast my husband said :)”
