“The Fife Arms is truly one of the most unique and wonderful places I have ever been. We visited last October in preparation to host our very small wedding there (10 guests) this October 2023. We were blown away by the kindness and dedication of all of their staff during our first stay which continued through our planning process the following year. The wedding was absolutely perfect. We planned multiple activities/excursions, meals, etc in addition to the ceremony with the hotel and the execution by their event team - Katie and Louise - was phenomenal. Not a single thing went awry the entire 4 day stay with all of our guests. On top of being an incredibly beautiful, funky, unique venue, it is one of the most comfortable hotels I've ever stayed at. Their rooms are gorgeous, the beds are very comfortable. Their food and cocktails are absolutely delicious. Every single staff member puts so much attention to detail and care into their work. It is just an incredibly special place and if you have the opportunity to visit, please please do. It is a magical place that will be a part of our family for a long time.”

“I came to visit my family in Macduff and chose this hotel as I've stayed here before. The hotel is very well refurbished. It is clean and Tidy and the rooms are just perfect, cosy, comfortable and well designed. We'll what can i say about the staff.... simply amazing in every way. We cant thank them enough for there hospitality and friendliness. The food is lovely. There are beautiful views overlooking the harbour far into the distance of the East Coast. “This is a beautiful park. We stayed in Lodge 1 and my daughter in Lodge 6. It's amazing. So big, spacious, clean and very quiet. There is a little park and duck pond on the grounds which my granddaughter made good use of. There were also a few rabbits running around out the back of the lodges. Very cute. Hot tubs are always a great addition so recommend you add on the extra towel pack when booking. Definitely recommend and will be back x”

“I have been staying at this hotel on and off for business over the past 3 years. I have watched the hotel develop over this time and can say that its my go-to whenever I'm visiting Aberdeen. The front desk service is always good, and you are greeted with a smile and, in my case a welcome back. The restaurant has went through a good upgrade and now has a more up market feel and the food is in line with a nice bistro rather than a generic hotel. Don't get me wrong I have had a few issues over years but they were always resolved swiftly. All in all I would recommend this hotel.”

“Went for nice family dinner out at this stunning venue- would definitely recommend. The food was excellent, with a great selection of meat (mostly game) and fresh fish. The muse bouche was a tomato based soup the day we went which was great too. After dinner we retired to the bar where we had a cocktail- the espresso martini is delicious. The staff in general were great- particularly the younger waiting staff at dinner. What makes this a 4 instead of 5 star was how we were initially greeted- instead of a warm welcome (expected when paying the prices that Douneside charge). We were told we could have a drink before our dinner reservation in the bar, 5minutes later the staff member then came over and said we had to order food immediately because we were late for our reservation, which was confusing given we had asked if we had time for a drink before. This staff member then proceeded to rock back and forth like a child on his feet whilst waiting for us to order as if to try hurry us. We continued to have poor treatment from this particular staff member throughout the night. Happy to get in touch with Douneside directly if interested, as it really put a downer on what was otherwise an excellent evening in a beautiful venue.”

“This is one of our favourite hotels in Scotland. Had a fabulous night here. Grounds are stunning! Like a stately home! Great open fire when you walk in. Traditional decor throughout. Might not appeal to those who want something more modern, but we loved it. We had superb view from our bedroom right down the wonderful gardens. Dinner and breakfast superb! Wonderful friendly staff. “This venue was on the outskirts of town, making it very convenient to walk into town for dinner. The hotel does offer dinner in-house with a limited menu, and I must say that they have an excellent chef. We chose to eat dinner in the hotel restaurant for our first night, and enjoyed it thoroughly. Breakfast was amazing as well. They offer a Porridge Brûlée which was out of this world. Rich and creamy. (probably a million calories, but SO worth it!) Our room was large, but the lighting was pretty dim. The bathroom was huge, with a glass shower located right in the middle. It could use some sort of towel hanger near the shower, as well as a handy shelf to place the shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There was a dining table with two place settings if one chose to eat breakfast in the room. We did not. The bed was large and very comfortable. The staff was hard working and attentive. A really lovely experience overall.”
