“Caution: If you stay here on a weekend, make sure you have brunch plans! I was left at the hotel while my friends went to a local event, and only then found out that I couldn't get lunch there. With no other walkable restaurants, I had to get a chicken sandwich and snacks from the nearby gas station, which I ate on the bay windowsill (the room had no desk or table). The staff were friendly, the room was plain but clean. Nice bathroom with an austere shower stall. As a hotel the Yellow House is just fine, but given my experience I couldn't help but knock off a star.”

“One of the best hotel experiences I have had in a very long time. All of the employees provided a warm welcome upon check in. Plenty of vending machine options if a late night snack is needed. I was traveling with family- the staff always made sure to provide any accommodation and were very easy to work with. Delicious free breakfast options and the room was very clean and I had no issues in terms of amenities or showers. This will definitely be my go-to hotel whenever I am in the area.”

“Don’t stay here. Especially if you are a wedding party looking to reserve a block. There were multiple communication issues with just trying to book the rooms, with some staff not being in discussion with other staff about our reservation. The most frustrating part was the female manager who was unbelievably rude to my family and our guests on our wedding night (5/7/23). We reserved the conference room at the recommendation of a male manager at the hotel. He said we could use it all night for the after wedding party because there was not much open in Hamburg after 10pm. We booked and paid for this conference room because it was recommended to us by a staff member. When we arrived after the wedding, there was a female manager on staff who immediately expressed that she didn’t think we should have the conference room and she had no idea we reserved it. We tried to explain that we spoke to another manager who allowed us to pay for and use the room, to which she said “I never heard about that and I never would have approved it.” She didn’t apologize for the miscommunication at all, and in fact blamed us. When she came into the room and left she slammed the door. We were able to use the room for about an hour before we were kicked out by her. This manager took a mistake she and the other manager made - not communicating about our reservation - and tried to make it our fault. This caused frustration and cut our wedding night short. Thanks for the awful stay.”
