“This is such a beautiful place to come if you live locally or even if you don’t- it’s worth coming out of the way. The service was really lovely, we didn’t have a booking for lunch but they fit us in as it wasn’t too busy. Food came out really fast and such big portions! Definitely recommend the arrancini balls. The pulled pork burger was tasty but had a lot going on. Absolutely love the seating area outside overlooking the river! AND it’s dog friendly! Perfect.”

“I felt Cedar Lakes deserves a 4 1/2 Stars. It was a fantastic resort for children. The kids could ride their bike around seeing all different types of wildlife, paddling on the kayaks and little boats. The only downfall was we had previously stayed here, and the pool was heated. This is the main reason we choose to come back here as last time we spent hours upon hours with our kids in the pool. The pool was absolutely freezing this time as they turned off the heat in the warmer months. But it was still cold at the end of November. Hardly anyone used the pool other than a few kids. They do have two spas. They have putt putt golf, which was good. An arcade room which the kids used. Over all its is a great country escape.”

“The hotel itself is stunning. Beautiful rooms, restaurants, pool (although very small vs number of guests). Right on the beach too so location is amazing. The breakfast is also top drawer. The issue however was service. My wife and I had a somewhat bizarre 2 night stay in that we felt as though we may have been invisible! Passed dozens of times at the pool without acknowledgment let alone offer of a drink, room not turned down once in 48 hours despite two specific requests. Sat In the lobby bar without being attended to twice. We’re not precious about these things but for what they charge you would expect more. Overall a mixed bag”

“We booked a family holiday with 3 rooms for 6 adults and 3 kids. Have stayed here before about 25 years ago. The gardens and pool area with BBQ facilities are fantastic. The team in the office and very helpful. Access to the beach via a path out the back is awesome and only a 2min walk. Standard of the rooms does vary due to private ownership however are on the later side, pool view balconies, kitchen and washing machine/dryer etc. so great for a family. Would stay again.”

Pool was good, front desk service was good, location was a bit out of the way from the main party area but we were happy about that. Although the bed was comfortable, the bedding comprised only a top sheet, and the bed cover had noticeable yellow stains. Additionally, the towels provided were thin. On the positive side, the location was satisfactory, with convenient access to the tram stop and Pacific Fair in the vicinity. There was a direct walk to the patrolled beach, and the main Broadbeach strip was about four blocks away, approximately a 10-minute walk. It's worth noting that the hotel is situated on the quieter side of Broadbeach. The inclusion of car parking was appreciated.”

“A studio type of an apartment with no lounge or dining table. OK, first of all, when you book, ask if your room will be facing the basketball court that is on the opposite corner to the Motel. People get out there as soon as the sun pops up and start playing basketball. All you hear is the thud , thud , thud of the ball, then the bang of the backboard. Second of all, the parking costs are around $20 to $25 per night . It is secure parking, but there is not much of it, and if you have a larger vehicle , forget about it. The street parking is free all night and has meters that kick off at 8 am in the morning ( check times in case I am wrong ). Now we had a king room that was OK but not the best I have been in for the price we paid. Don't get me wrong, the room was clean , and the bed was comfortable. The shower and loo were combined, but there was plenty of room. There was ample linen , air con , a wall mounted TV ( very few channels), and a kettle with tea and coffee on hand. Until the basketball kicked off, we were having a great sleep with a beautiful breakfast that arrived shortly after. The motel is well worth the fee, but this was out of school holidays. I'm sure the holidays would add a little to the price. If you choose to stay, I think you'll be satisfied with the room.”

“Wonderful stay for six days. The place is very clean, in a great location, and the facilities are great. The room we stayed in was apparently a budget room, but believe me there was nothing cheap about it. Huge apartment. And everything in it you could need. Balcony looking over the pool. No one to other us. Only lost half a star because of the bedding, and half because of the lack of toilets at the pool. Don’t get me wrong, I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. However I found that Walking up to your room every few hours was a pain if you needed the bathroom. Not sure what everyone else was doing. Why do Gold Coast hotels have a sheet and a coverlet only? Fortunately I brought my Doonah and pillows and slept well. We hope to stay again soon. We are definitely fans! Also how could I forget the amazing café there. Best coffee and pastries I’ve had since Italy!”
