“Had a “made it to 2024” celebratory lunch in the restaurant, with a short walk in this charming location. Reservations were responsive, polite and helpful; the food and drinks were exquisite. We had wild mushroom arancini with truffle mayonnaise; glazed aubergine main dish, Eton Mess and sticky toffee pudding. Absolutely top-notch. Service was friendly and efficient. Regarding discretionary gratuities, we have no complaint about these being added to the bill, even at 12.5% which is quite normal for high-class establishments. Knowing how the catering industry is struggling at present we are happy for this to show our appreciation of the lovely staff. The meal was not cheap but still worth it. NB - 10% discount for January! The 8-acre hotel grounds are beautifully designed and cared for. We’ll be back!”

She took the time to help us chose our drinks and food explaining the dishes on the menu. She made us feel so welcome. I had a burger as it was national burger day and my partner had fish and chips. Phenomenal!! Superb food. Proper portions and all super fresh. Great selection of wine and beers. The beer garden is always a delight and it was great to see so many people staying in the rooms they have. Even though we live just down in Cheltenham will most definitely be recommending everyone to take the short drive out. A winner!!”

The room was exceptionally comfortable and clean, and the hotel itself is housed in a beautiful building with a charming dining area. A short walk from the centre of town it is ideally situated. We were able to use the parking on site for the duration of our stay for a small fee. Tommy, our server for the evening meal, was brilliant; his service truly elevated the dining experience to a joyous occasion. We opted for the taster menu that came paired with wines, which was perfect for a lovely evening. Highly recommend for a delightful stay and dining experience!”

“This is a clean tidy campsite pretty well located in St Briavels. We had a good week there initially before a new administrator camp along- who withdrew our parcel receipt services and according to the courier several parcels remain with the administrator of the camp. The reason why is simply because i recovered one of the parcels on the administrators property ~behind the door. When I complained they withdrew toilet / laundry access and turned off the taps. We complained to the owner who said my wife and I "insulted" her. We never did- we followed the process for complaint. We expected more- an enquiry because I had solid evidence for our complaint. He said we must leave the site which we had paid for and banned from returning. We've complained to the district council but as a homeless family we feel we have no rights and the legal access is very limited. Beware.”

The lady on Reception in the afternoon/evening made the booking super easy. She and a male colleague were friendly and welcoming on arrival an hour later. They were not just going through the motions, which was refreshing. Although a different lady in the morning did not seem anywhere near as friendly. The evening meal, duck and then the homemade cheesecake, was amazing and a sensible portion, not too large, yet very satisfying. The room was great value and the food was pricey, but worth it. Breakfast was also as good and again with two friendly and efficient waitresses. I will be returning on a regular basis.”
