“This hotel deserves its high rating, and I can honestly give it five stars. The hotel feels and smells new. It's larger than your standard Fairfield and the lobby has a lot more seating. The breakfast offerings included cheese omelettes, bacon, hash browns, waffles and all the regular cereals and yogurts. My room was exceptionally large and very quiet. I left my cell phone charger at my daughter's house and needed one for the morning and the front desk was able to find one I could use. I really appreciate them going the extra mile.”

“Newly updated hotel in a fantastic location. In the heart of shopping & restaurants which makes it very convenient. I called a few weeks ago to purchase a room last minute as our flight got cancelled and they accommodated us with early check in and were also able to give us last minute late checkout (only one hour but still very very helpful). Polite staff, Gloria at the front desk was so wonderful, even remembered my daughters name and said hi to her everytime we saw her. The only thing we didn’t enjoy was how cold the pool water was.. too cold for our 1 year old to enjoy ):”

“We had our annual meeting there this weekend. Great room for our meeting. The food was very good. Great wait staff, friendly. I personally didn't stay at the hotel, but the staff was very friendly. Recently remodeled, with a cozy fireplace at the bar. Reasonably priced drinks.”

“Our room was very spacious and comfy. The front desk staff was awesome. Very friendly and helpful at recommending great places to eat/grab a drink. The location is good very walkable to the business district as well as the campus area. Parking is not free but appears reasonable compared to other downtown options. We got a complimentary breakfast which was adequate. Our only complaint is the A/C is not the best and would constantly reset itself to 60 degrees.”

However, our room had no clock, the phone was useless without a cord, the smoke detector placed about our bed had annoying tiny blasting lights, the floors were ice cold, and I was awakened at midnight by another hotel guest blasting their tv! It was a rough stay. Bummer!”

“If you're looking for a different kind of hotel, this is it. Unique, vintage & super clean. Definitely a different kind of experience. I stayed in room 21 which was huge. A different kind of stay in a historical building that's definitely worth it. In a great location, you're across the street from the lake and can easily walk to many different activities. 3 restaurants/bars right on the hotel property. You get 2 drink tickets upon check in if that's your thing. They do offer breakfast, I didn't partake. Plenty parking right onsite. I would definitely stay here again. Only 2 negatives - the train woke me starting at 4am, the heat didn't work so well. I could see it being noisy during warmer months as it's located on a busy street.”

“While the hotel itself wasn't anything spectacular, everything was clean and the location was convenient. What made this experience a 5 star was absolutely the staff. We got in about midnight and the desk clerk was friendly and welcoming. In the morning, Mr. Mike was observed to go out of his way to make sure visitors were having a great day while getting their breakfast and beverages. Personally, I found Mr. Mike to be very polite, joyful, friendly, and outgoing. He treated every guest like a long lost friend, and he made my day.”

“Staff was amazing and very accommodating. Juice machines were off but they turned it on so I could fill my canteen with water. We arrived at 3 am, check in was quick and we were out by 10 am. Online showed $80, my dad went in and came out and said it was $120. I was too tired to figure out why and let it go. There was something behind the building that sounded like car subwoofers; however, when I looked there were no cars and only buildings. Not sure what caused the noise but I could hear it all night long. The heat didn’t adjust to the temp we set it to, just continually pushed out hot air. Woke up at 6:30 am because the room was so hot and I had to turn it off. Breakfast was normal, I’ve had better at other supper 8’s. There was no spray for the waffle machine so it stuck & I had to dig the waffle out.”
