“Really good food. We arrived at 1pm on a grey autumn day - parking was plentiful and the location is on the shore road so the views are brilliant. We popped in after walking around pucks glen (a few minutes away by car). The staff were really polite and helpful. We were a group of 2 adults, a 3 year old and a dog. Water bowls are available for dogs, restaurant is dog friendly, there is a separate kids menu (we went for nuggets and mash- she loved it!), I tried the T-bone steak that was well priced, plentiful and tested lovely. My partner tried the beef pie- again another great meal. We followed up with some deserts and were pleasantly surprised with the bill. We will definitely be returning”

“I was taken along with my daughter for my first afternoon tea by my wife. We were treated to a wide selection of sandwiches and cakes, as well as tea in fine china. There was a warm welcome from the reception and the waiting staff who engaged warmly with us throughout. There was so much food the hotel staff offered to wrap the excess so I was able to enjoy it all again later in the evening. I would thoroughly recommend the Rosslea to anyone.”

“I have been to the hotel 2x this summer and arrived on a yacht both times. I used one of the hotel moorings. This was easy to find. Stunning location. Easy dinghy ride to shore. Hotel is really cool and welcoming with nice classy interior. Caters for locals, visitors, shabby yachtsmen. The bar is friendly with chatting folk. Fish and chips was the best we have ever eaten. “Hard to put into words how special this place is...and it has nothing to do with the fact that this Isle is my namesake. The staff at Coll Hotel were some of the kindest people I've ever met in my entire life, so personable and willing to accommodate any need or request. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous inside, the rooms were clean and sizeable with incredible views of the bay and garden patios, and the restaurant and bar service and food were unmatched...literally the best seafood I've ever had, and I grew up in Hawaii! So fresh, and presentation was stunning. I actually asked if there was some sort of chef competition going on or a renowned food critic on site, it was that amazing. But that's just how they do it every day! This is a very special place and the staff are incredibly talented at what they do. I cannot wait to go back and hope to see all the kind staff there again when I do! Such a welcoming community. Isle of Coll and the Coll Hotel...hands down my favorite place on the planet of earth. The Coll Distillery located just steps from the hotel was a bonus attraction! Thank you a million times to all the staff at Coll Hotel...keep doing what you're doing and I hope to see you again soon!”

“An excellent experience. The staff were professional and friendly, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was exquisite! Also, the water pressure in the shower was on point and their wine and whiskey lists were respectable. There is a spa, hikes, and several recreational activities on site. There is a gym, but it is not open early or late and has limited equipment (no free weights, limited cardio machines) A few minor areas of complaint. The bed was a European King, that is 2 double beds pushed together... Some of the information on that online was unclear (mostly from third party sites). Also the bed was not as comfortable as I'd expect for a luxury hotel. Additionally, be aware that the island is fairly isolated... There is taxi service to Oban, but it is best to reserve 24 hours in advance. We loved the intimacy of an isolated estate, but it does make a night on the town a bit more involved. Overall a great location for luxe accomodations!”

“I always review based on price vs quality vs expectation, and hope to give well balanced comments. Lovely location next to the Loch and friendly staff when we stopped for lunch (Saturday, no booking required just walked in). Dog friendly so massive plus and waiter even asked immediately if we needed a bowl of water for our elderly greyhound as she was panting. Pleasant surroundings nicely decorated bar and quick service. We were just after a quick bite so opted for three the same : beer battered fish and chips. Meals arrived quickly in less than ten minutes and looked good. Good points: fish was fresh and batter was crispy. Tatar sauce tasty. Bad points: chips were frozen French fries rather than chunky hand cut (as I would typically expect in a rural country pub) , and a small tub of mushy peas that actually tasted like a blended tin of garden peas. I don’t remember if menus said it came with mushy peas but really would expect garden peas or salad (even frozen garden peas are the norm and very acceptable). Good portion size of fish, overall though not sure justified £15.50 price considering the aforementioned disappointing other items on the plate. Total bill was just under £50 for three people for lunch, OK but verging on the high side for a lunch menu.”
