“One of my favorite places to stay when in Portland! Lovely, clean, and modern hotel in a great location to get anywhere in Portland and with great food / cafes around. The service is absolutely lovely - really nice people who seem to genuinely care, like Cory from the lounge. The lounge is great too - appreciate the variety of snacks available and the delicious hot breakfast (especially those chocolate croissants)! The rooms are spacious and have everything you need plus a little more personality and color than a classic all white hotel room. 10/10 recommend!”

“We stayed there on January 1st for early flight the next day. The room and the hotel seemed well maintained and very clean. The check in and out at the front desk was pretty smooth. They provide breakfast and coffee but due to our early flight we had to grab a to go bag that they make available. It had a cookie and a apple. The hotel provides a shuttle to airport but need to give a 15 minute advance notice. Our driver was early in that regard but no issues for us as we were ready. It was very quiet there so we slept well. There is not a restaurant on site but the Hilton right next door has one. We would definitely stay there again!”

“When I arrived in Portland, I had called the hotel from the airport to see if they had a shuttle available that could pick me up, and one showed up very promptly. Michael and Jordan, especially, displayed wonderful customer service. You can tell that they love what they do, and genuinely care about their guests having an enjoyable stay. The breakfast was excellent compared to other hotels that I’ve stayed in that are similar. There were many options to choose from. My room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. My only complaint is that inside the shower stall, there is only a small ledge for a few travel-size toiletries to fit on. There isn’t a bar to hang up your washcloth within the shower stall so I had to place mine over the top of the sliding glass door when not in use. I would definitely stay here again just for the great customer service. Thanks guys!”

“Fantastic and up to date hotel! This hotel is right at the Convention Center, where we were having a work event. Not only was it convenient, but the hotel was extremely up to date. The lobby, market, and bar were so nice. The catering and service during our conference was top notch. We really appreciated how much effort was put into it all. My room had a huge (like 65 in) TV, and the beds were so comfortable. Great views, too! Awesome stay overall”

“I stayed here in December with my partner. When we arrived we were shocked to find that the hotel was a complete construction zone. The pool and gym were closed due to construction and open insulation, wired and construction debris lined every hallway. This was not noted upon booking. We arrived late following a cross-country flight only to be awoken at 4AM by an ear piercing alarm. When leaving our room to see what was wrong the elevator was disabled and all hallway doors shut for security measures. After talking to the front desk we were told it was a minor gas leak due to the renovations. We tried to go back to bed but were woken two more times. This was incredibly upsetting to my partner, who has military related PTSD and it put them in an agitated state for the rest of the morning. We contacted management and were told they would not refund our stay because we booked with their partner, Alaska Airlines. After reaching out to Alaska Airlines, who contacted Clarion on our behalf, we were still not able to have the substantial amount of airline miles we used for this stay credited back to our account. I am incredibly upset with the way this was handled and will not be booking with Clarion or Alaska Airlines Hotels again.”

“It was a nice hotel. The breakfast was good. The rooms were dark and quiet. The beds were comfortable. I have a few complaints. The pool was cold. Housekeeping never came to our room. I had asked because we needed linen picked up and trash. I asked a housekeeper in the hall. He said he didn't clean my room that day. I asked if he could just pick up those items. He never did. I know they are busy. So later I asked the front desk and he said they clean the rooms every 4 days. We were staying for 4 days. I asked if I could bring the trash up to the desk. He said to leave it in front of the door and they would pick it up. They didn't until housekeeping did the next day. The mirror in the room says housekeeping comes daily. I didn't want a full clean room, just trash picked up and toiletries if needed. I have never stayed at a hotel without housekeeping coming daily. I wouldn't mind if it was every other day.”

They don’t do free breakfast and the breakfast is a little pricey. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. It was big. We had our baby with a portable crib and there was plenty of room.”

“My semi truck is in the shop. They recommended The Portlander. I'm not disappointed. As far as rooms go, I'm not picky; as long as it's got a clean bed to sleep in and a hot shower, I'm cool. I've been through at the Jubitz truck stop but didn't really get to stay. Being a long-haul driver doesn't allow for a lot of time to stick around. This time, the universe had its way, and I get to rest a little.”

“This hotel stole money from my brother. He was there on a work trip and the room was paid for in full before they checked in. The front desk took his card to “secure” the room and then proceeded to charge multiple charges for $371 and $321 and over drafted his account and refused to reimburse. There was no damage to the room in any way. The manager of the hotel said they were “looking into it”. He had his HR department call and fight with the hotel for a day and then had to report the charges to his bank as fraud. They were able to recover one of the charges and are still working on the next one. Horrible service. Also very random but they also stole his deodorant when they cleaned his room and it was inside of his suitcase when he left the room.”
