“We have been staying in this hotel for decades. The manager is extremely customer centric And that philosophy is instilled in all the staff. They renovate this hotel frequently so it never looks worn. They do a nice job with a self-serve breakfast which is really convenient when you have your kids and grandkids along. They have a heated indoor pool also, which is nice when you have down time. And being right on Dirksen, it's easy to get to, and convenient to part from for activities in the Springfield area. We highly recommend staying here If you are looking for a hotel for a fair price, that is always clean.”

“Great location, very safe and quiet. Hotel staff are all very nice. My only issue is the beds are awful, very bouncing and cause your back to ache the next day. My wife and kids love the new options for shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower area. I do enjoy staying here and I’m a Diamond member and I’ve stayed here many times, just need to change out beds for a better nights sleep. Brought family to Illinois State Fair and it’s within about 10 miles to the north.”

“The hotel was not very clean or well kept. There were bugs (ants, I think..) in my room. I travel frequently and this was definitely not one of the better locations I have visited. The patio space was dirty and the seating was moldy. The carpets were filthy and the room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned (other than a quick wipe down) in ages. The cloth furniture, both in the room and in the common areas, was dirty and full of stains. This would not be a hotel I would choose again should I find myself in the area in the future. I will say that the staff was very friendly but that is the only positive thing I can say!”

“The price of the room was too high for a room that the tub needed to be cleaned in, and the walls had splattered food, and when you turn the sink on there was a horrible smell, and the curtains and the shower curtain had blood spots..🤢 the housekeepers might need a little more training on cleaning and the hotel should replace the curtains and the shower curtain.. also not much parking and there is no access for the back door if you have to park way in the back of the building. On a positive note, The Front desk person is always nice and welcoming . The location of the place is good if you are needing to be close to the hospital”

“We had checked into an air bnb and it was so filthy we couldn’t stay there. We were able to book a room at the holiday inn express quickly, the rate was very reasonable, check in was quick, lobby was clean! We went to our room on the third floor. Room was very clean, beds are super comfortable, nice chilly temperature at night which is perfect for sleeping, dove products in the bathroom! Great water pressure! We were so comfortable here. Decent breakfast, really neat pancake machine! Eggs were over cooked, but turkey sausage was yummy. I wish there was more fruit. Only a few apples in the bowl. My only two small complaints were a strong marijuana smell in the first floor hallway as we made our way to the elevators, and the bathtub is VERY slippery. I almost fell getting in the shower. Thank goodness there’s a bar in there to grab. Thank goodness for this hotel, we were able to get some rest in a comfortable clean room and I would absolutely stay here again!!”

“It's a shame as I bet this hotel was great back in the day. Location can't be beat. We were able to walk to all the hot spots. But the room was dirty. Linens clean, though. Bathroom outlet broken so couldn't plug in hair dryer or curling iron to do my hair in the bathroom. Staff friendly. Breakfast like others said, not as advertised. No fridge in the room. If you are a coffee drinker note they only have powdered creamer. Lastly, the air conditioner/heater kept us up all night it's so loud. I hope they bring it back to it's formal glory.”
