“We are returning guests and as with the previous visit, the hotel is amazing! The staff are terrific and very helpful. We had a great room looking out to one of the side 'lanes' and the room was immaculate as were both bathrooms. The only request we would recommend is perhaps another staff member to help with the breakfast service but this is a minor detail. The location is like being part of a film set, truly stunning! Being such great value, this hotel is a must for those wanting to be in the heart of the eternal city of Rome. Thank you all again. Patrick & Sasha”

“Although I didn’t stay at the hotel, I visited the seventh-floor bar. The view was stunning. We enjoyed two drinks, a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. It wasn’t crowded with tourists, making it a really pleasant spot. Highly recommended!”

“This is such a brilliant hotel! Perfectly located amongst loads of bustling restaurants and bars, and within easy walking distance to Rome's main tourist hot-spots. Yet the hotel is quiet and peaceful, tucked away down a side road, and enjoys lovely gardens, which we sat out in for breakfast, despite it being the end of November. The staff here are fabulous - from the lovely people in reception to the breakfast and bar staff -- all are so friendly and welcoming. We had a good laugh with everyone, it is such a happy place. Our room was kept spick and span by the housekeepers -- everything was perfect! We are planning our next trip to Rome -- it is such an amazing city -- and we will definitely be staying at the Hotel Santa Maria again.”

“Overall an excellent choice for our 9 day stay. Felt very central and close to everything we wanted to see and do. The complementary breakfast is lovely with a good variety to start your day. They do not offer room service and the mini bar is not restocked daily, so be prepared to grab extra water etc to keep in your room. Housekeeping staff was lovely, front desk staff was fine. Would recommend and stay again.”

“The hotel is easy to get to from Roma Termini. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was quite large for an Italian hotel and the bathroom was very modern. Breakfast is not a buffet, but served. My scrambled eggs were very good. Overall, I would recommend this hotel as an excellent place ro stay.”

“It was incredible! The location is simply amazing, right in the heart of the city and within walking distance of all the major sights. The staff were extremely welcoming, supportive, and helpful throughout our stay. The room facilities were top-notch and we couldn't have asked for more. Oh, and the breakfast? Absolutely delicious! One thing that really caught our attention was the hotel's stunning marble staircase, which we later found out was built back in 1930. Truly impressive! Highly recommend this place!”

“Lovely event location and pool. Comfortable rooms, staff and service were very helpful, from ordering taxis to changing room bookings. Unfortunately, the hotel's restaurant was closed while we were there, so we had to order taxis to come pick us up and bring us to the grocery store and restaurants on a daily basis. Often taxi drivers will charge for the distance to get to the hotel, in addition to taking you to your destination.”

“Very friendly and welcoming staff. Check in/out process efficient and smooth. Rooms very clean, well appointed, and beds comfortable. The breakfast was top notch with a wide choice. The location is excellent, you are within walking distance to all the major attractions and restaurants. The only downside is that there is only one lift/elevator which can be slow at the busy periods if you are on the upper floors but it is an old building with plenty of charm so it is understandable. We would most definitely return.”

“Just got back from a lovely stay at Hotel Locarno, We booked as a late break away and so did not read reviews or research the hotel, when we arrived we were surprised at how close the hotel was to the promenade , the hotel is situated in an ideal spot with metro stations just around the corner to commute around the city or walk along the promenade. The Hotel is clean and well looked after and the staff were all friendly and helpful, our room had a balcony where we could sit and watch the sun rise and fall and look out onto the streets below with a view of the sea. The bathroom was large with a large walk in shower, and room equipped with tea/coffee making facilities. The beds were changed and made daily and bed very comfortable. I would definitely reccomend the hotel to friends and family and hopefully will return soon.”

“My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at this DoubleTree. The hotel is very new and clean. The lobby is beautiful and the service we received was so far above and beyond. It made our visit to Rome feel truly special. The location is amazing as it’s close to the Rome attractions and it’s also close to the main train station. Our room was excellent. Cleanliness is extremely important to us, and I can say that we felt very refreshed staying here for a couple nights during a long two week trip through Europe. I would absolutely stay again!”

“We had an excellent stay at Kolbe Hotel for Christmas! The staff are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was delicious and very high quality! We had drinks at the bar some nights and found the bartender to be very knowledgeable and skilled. The hotel is also in a fantastic location. We had a great few of ruins at the Palatine Hill right outside our window. Travel to must-see landmarks was quick and easy by foot meaning we never felt like we had to go far to find something interesting to visit. Thanks to the staff at the hotel for a wonderful stay and making our Christmas in Rome something special that we will always remember!”

“The staff were always so helpful, professional, and kind! They gave us recommendations on a nice/authentic Italian restaurant when we didn't know where to start looking for them. The room and room service were always kept up and beautiful!! It had everything we needed/wanted and more. We got room service one night and the food was delicious. Our package came with breakfast included and it was always so fresh and good as well. This hotel has a rooftop bar - it's also where they serve the breakfast. Beautiful outlook of the city! We wanted a wedding of 60/70 guest all on site for our wedding and this venue is perfect . We have it booked for 3days for our wedding celebrations. The rooms are beautiful and spacious , the restaurant is fabulous with lovely breakfast and dinner options of excellent quality . The staff are all so friendly and helpful. They could not have done enough for us to make us feel relaxed about our upcoming big day . The hotel is built into a hill and set on beautiful garden grounds. We are a group of noisy and in-the-way American kids, and this hotel staff has not faltered once. The staff is constantly helping us out with anything we need, the breakfast is amazing, the room service is great, and the bartender is especially amazing. He is great. We have all felt extremely welcomed and assisted here during out stay. Absolutely recommend staying here. Also shoutout Paul, one of the employees who helps out around the hotel generally. “Short version: this was the best hotel stay I’ve ever had in my life. Long version… I took my girlfriend here for a very special weekend. The staff from the moment we arrived were the most friendly and welcoming I’ve met at any hotel I’ve stayed in. In just a weekend I felt like the staff at Hotel de la Ville became my extended family! I came to Rome with the intention of proposing to my girlfriend. When the staff showed us to our room (I mean suite!) that they had generously upgraded us to, I was speechless. We were shown to the Roma Suite by Francesca, and our jaws dropped. The suite was palatial, and the outdoor terrace had a panoramic view of Rome. It was utterly magical. So this hotel became the place I got down on one knee to propose to my girlfriend. The staff throughout the weekend never failed to make our weekend incredible. From the bottle of Prosecco to congratulate us, to the applause from the reception staff when we told them. Now, perhaps not everyone going to this hotel will be getting engaged every weekend… regardless, there are so many wonderful aspects of Hotel de la Ville. The breakfast is impeccable, with a huge range of options as well as a professional kitchen willing to cook a variety of delicacies on the menu. Again the staff are incredibly attentive and welcoming. We also managed to spend some time in the spa. The spa was so relaxing, and a delight to escape to from the hustle and bustle of Rome life. The spa was both warming and soothing but also modern and fresh. The interior design and details of the spa were utterly perfect. Perhaps our favourite spot in the hotel, though, aside from our suite(!) was the cocktail bar. Here, the staff are absolutely dedicated to their craft. I had the best negroni I’ve ever had (the Cockney, on their menu!), and then we came back the following evening to sample their Valentine’s special that they were working on: the love potion. I’ve never met people with such passion for making cocktails. It was infectious, and inspiring. As you might expect, we didn’t want our magical weekend to end. This hotel, and the staff, will forever be in my heart, for making me the happiest man in the world.”

“Stayed for two nights for honeymoon to explore room. We had one of the luxury suites which had a beautiful and private courtyard. The room was nice with giant jacuzzi tub, but no shower which I did not expect. Breakfast was fine and the location was great. I thought the friendliness of the staff at checkin could be much improved. If someone from the hotel is reading this, please work on this. You have guests jet lagged and tired checking in who are excited about their trip to Italy. Why not greet them and make them feel special and welcome rather than a bother? The best part of the hotel was the rooftop bar where they made great drinks and gave you very tasty snacks. The servers were really friendly as well. Overall, it’s a fine hotel and affordable for a few nights stay to explore Rome.”
