“Nice location very close to Taormina, shuttle provided. The hotel is colonial-like with a very nice garden, nice pool and most importantly very clean, no smells. The rooms are big enough, clean, and have a nice view from our balcony just to forget about the railway that stands between the hotel and the beach, but not intrusive at all. The bathrooms are very clean and big, nothing to complain about. The only drawbacks are breakfast - the same every day, but not bad, and the events they organize due to break off the silence that usually is.... a very good experience that I recommend. PS the sea is very clean with a beautiful azzurro color, just the beach is not with the best sand (read pebbles...), but clean and sunbeds provided”

“Very nice and professional staff. I would place the service at the top of the value here. Location is about a 10 min walk below the main area of town and there are shuttles down to two beach clubs that the hotel has contacts with. The rooms are recently remodeled and well done. Bathrooms are especially nice with products from the Italian designer Etro. Top floor restaurant is a highlight and if you need to do some email there is a very pleasant lounge on the top floor as well. Rooms are on the small side - as is the pool. Over all I would recommend a couple day stay.”

“I enjoyed my stay so much. The rooms were spacious and clean. The beaches were slammed so their pool was perfect. It has a great view and the staff was Extremely accommodating. Gabriele from the pool staff was AMAZING and made our days at the pool relaxing and fun. Breakfast is on the 4th floor with an unreal View and great food. I am gluten and dairy free and they could accommodate both. Only thing is it is on a very busy street so if you are looking for an off the beaten path type of place, not here. However it is right on the beach and the cable care is a 5 min walk. Thank to all the staff!”

“Some aspects of Mari Del Sud are lovely. In others very disappointing. Not really a 4 Star Hotel, 3 Star would be more appropriate. The rooms are good, though some things (like rusty guttering with big holes) let them down in aesthetic terms. Also our bed sheets were not changed in 2 weeks. The gardens are lovely, the location is great. Breakfast was poor, for choice and quality. The restaurant was overpriced compared to the competition in the nearby area. There was no children's menu, so you get adult portions. Staff generally were great, Craig in particular was exceptional and a real asset! Overall the biggest disappointment was what was said on the website and what we discovered. This is not set up for children! The playground was dirty and uncared for. The jacuzzi areas in the pool didn't work. The pool bar rarely opened, but when it was very expensive. We have 2 young children (4 and 5), there was no childcare of any sort. So for us as parents we had a change of scene but were not really able to relax at all. So if you are a couple with no children it is somewhere to consider, but if you have children personally I would choose somewhere that has had more thought and investment applied for the whole family.”

Very upset for that cause I booked this hotel for my mum’s birthday through the local travel agency Avventurisole who highly recommend it as the best one in Lipari (and was charged the most). This is not at all a luxury hotel and not a 4* superior level. Room very dirty with dirty bed sheets, the cleaning I doesn’t change towels and not not bed linen, mattress very uncomfortable and like camp bed, there is no coffee machine in the room, no even boiler for tea, no amenities (not even bathrobe, slipper, body cream). Staff is very unpleasant and not friendly. Food very poor and bad quality, horrible breakfast with all not fresh food (even the fruits not fresh). We had also mentioned in advance to the agency that we had food requirements (vegan and gluten free), and the hotel was not able to serve us a proper meal. We complained a lot with the agency but they didn’t care, indeed with an aggressive and unprofessional behavior the agency said it was the hotel fault and that we are “complaining guests”. The hotel recognized us a refund, however the agency didn’t want to apologize or worry about any assistance, the agency also gave us troubles delaying to transfer to us the refund, again accusing that was fault of the hotel and we are “bad clients”. Definitely I don’t advise to book this hotel if you are expecting luxury standards, and for sure not through the agency Avventurisole, god knows which deals they must have to get so upset for a worthy complaint.”

“I saw the positive review and booked the place but wish we had stayed somewhere else. If you could, avoid the city view room at all cost. The room got so warm even with the AC that we had to open the door to sleep, and it was so loud with all of the traffic. If you could get the ocean view, I can see it being more pleasant. The bed was not that comfortable either so we both didn't get the best sleep. The breakfast was good though with a gorgeous view at the dining area. It's still a decent place for those who want to stay close to Taormina at a lower $ if the items I listed above don't bother you.”
