“2 nights at the Royal City Hotel, Bangkok. 3 stars is a bit too much. The location is good, but in general the hotel suffers from a lack of upgrading and maintenance. the water pressure and access to hot water is insufficient at times, at least on the upper floors. Very noisy in common areas outside the rooms. Elevators work great. Free parking. Breakfast on the lower scale of what you can expect at a breakfast buffet, and a coffee machine that takes several minutes to brew a cup of coffee, and there are only cardboard cups to choose from for coffee and tea. If you are unfortunate enough to press the door lock when you leave the room, which is quite normal to do in Thailand, you will be locked out when you want to enter the room again. The key cannot then open the door from the outside, and help must be sought to get the door opened. This can take time and will take time before help arrives. The swimming pool is not the place of pleasure. Is soiled and the hot tub is dirty and without water. No shower to rinse off before and after a trip in the pool, toilets adjacent to the swimming pool are closed. Clearly expect that you will not need the toilet at the time you want to sunbathe or swim. Incredibly negative experience, better to be closed by the offer.”
