“10-min walk to Porto airport, which is very convenient (avoid it if you have a lot of luggage, as the road is not the best for walking with bags). Quiet and good beds, breakfast looked good and opens up early morning (around 5am), and staff was ok (polite but not super helpful/happy). For the price, it is a good option if you’ve an early flight or just want to sleep after a long trip!”

Alternatively you need to call the staff through the intercom to escort you in and out, there is no reception. Stairs to navigate if you have heavy luggage. Staff are very friendly and helpful.”

“Beautiful rooms, themed by city and style. A great place for a couple to getaway and relax with one another. There is room service for wine, beer, surprises and food, the rooms are very spacious with a jacuzzi, bath robe and slippers, flat screen tv, built in surround sound music system, a must if you just want to it to be the two of you. It's very discrete and hidden. Close to the airport too so if its your last day in Porto this will leave a last impression alright. Call ahead or check online to see if rooms are available, I think some of the staff speak english.”

“Budget-Friendly, but Bring Your Earplugs - Urban Hotel Amadeos My recent stay at the Urban Hotel Amadeos offered a mixed bag of experiences. While some aspects pleasantly surprised me, others were less than desirable, making for an overall average hotel stay. The cost of a room at the Urban Hotel Amadeos is notably decent, offering travelers on a budget a viable option. My room was equipped with a bathtub, a luxury feature that I appreciated. Unfortunately, it was undermined by the lack of any mechanism to plug the drain, rendering the tub essentially unusable. My workaround was using tape to cover the drain, which is far from the most convenient solution. A significant downside to my stay was the noise level. A persistent, odd sound from the air conditioning unit, reminiscent of falling water droplets, pervaded the room throughout my stay. Furthermore, the thinness of the walls was troubling. The noise from neighboring rooms was so pronounced that it often felt like someone was in the room with me. These elements combined led to several nights of disturbed sleep, which detracted significantly from my overall experience. The proximity and safety of the public transportation options were a welcome aspect of the hotel's location. Buses, trams, and metro lines were conveniently located and felt secure. However, I found that using ride-hailing services like Uber or Bolt proved to be the most efficient and fastest way to travel around the city. One highlight of my stay was the breakfast. For a continental breakfast, and especially considering the price, it exceeded my expectations in quality. Despite this, we chose to have breakfast at nearby local cafes on subsequent mornings. They offered a more authentic, local cuisine experience that was not only delicious but also added to the cultural richness of our visit. In conclusion, the Urban Hotel Amadeos presents a budget-friendly choice with an excellent breakfast option and a great location for public transportation. However, if you are a light sleeper, consider bringing earplugs or a white noise machine to combat the noise from both the A/C and your neighbors.”
