“Pleasant stay, clean and quiet. The bed wasn't great. They have dining for breakfast and dinner, but no lunch. Loved breakfast! Coffee could be better. We had a microwave and refrigerator in the room, so storing and heating some lunch is possible. There is nothing we could walk to, so a car or transport is a need. Would have liked to see some EV charging options.”

“This place is just effortlessly elegant -- and frankly kind of perfect. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms are perfectly appointed and the beds and bedding rock. Super dog friendly. And none of this baloney where you have to be a 'loyalty member' or part of the 'frequent flyer club' or they treat you second rate; if a late check-out is possible, they'll grant it. If there's a room on a higher floor avail, they're happy to offer it. It's just a place where I've consistently found the answer to be 'yes, we can help' when I've had a need. In a hotel world where every little ask has become like the baleful a la carte system when flying - it's so refreshing to stay at a hip and swank place that runs on old school principles of simply great service. The Study gets an A+ on this exam.”

“Can't say enough AMAZING things about Hotel Marcel. From the 5am check-in, to the restaurant, to the rooms, and especially the staff. Our time here was the best hotel all around experience we have probably ever had. The rooms are impeccably clean and the materials used during construction are very stylish and of high end quality. The rooms have all the latest technology and everything functions like it should. Food in the restaurant was great, as was the service. Brian at the desk went above and beyond, definitely a legend compared to so many front desk experiences in the past. The lovely girl that checked us in was also super sweet and very accommodating, I unfortunately did not catch her name. Long review because they deserve much praise, in today's environment, they are a standout breath of fresh air. I have looked at this historical building since I was a child and to see what they were able to turn it into and have the opportunity to stay, was a honor 🎖 Keep up the awesome work Hotel Marcel!!!”

“DO NOT STAY HERE until construction is completed, unless you have the forbearance of Christ! I wasn't informed of the major construction until the day prior to my arrival, which left me with little opportunity to find another hotel. The paint fumes gave me a headache. I almost chose a third floor room but thankfully chose one on the second floor. Turns out the elevators are in accessible from the ground floor, unless you park in the back—which no one suggested to me until I saw someone coming out of the elevator a while into my stay. I was simply told I couldn’t use the elevators. Instead, I had to lug my luggage up and down the stairs because you can’t get from the elevators on the first floor to the lobby without walking around the building outside; and it was very cold during my stay. Because I wasn't given any clue as to the areas under construction, I chose a room on the far end of the hotel and had to walk almost the entire length of the hotel from where I could access the stairs. In every other Hilton hotel I’ve been recognized for my loyalty as a Hilton Honors Member, but not in this hotel. I’ve stayed with Hilton through some not exemplary experiences, and I’ve appreciated that being acknowledged. And with this woeful incident yet before me when I checked in, a sincere thank you would have meant a lot. I don’t think it was the fault of the woman at the makeshift front desk, who was new, as much as a matter of poor training. I only received two bottles of water, which felt cheap on the hotel's part in light of the problems with the hotel. There was no attempt at compensating me for the obvious inconvenience due to the construction.”

“I often stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels. They tend to be where I am going. I usually have a good experience. They are generally clean, quiet, and well maintained. This property was clean and quiet, but poorly maintained. Our room was quite warm, but the heating system was set to 68. We turned it down, but it was still running. We had to unplug the unit. Next, the window shade did not got all the way down, so a very bright street light shined into our room all night. Lastly, there was hot water for my shower, but not when I shaved.”

“I just love staying at this Hotel so much. The staff is just amazing to their guests. The rooms are nice, great breakfast. Overall just amazing for what you pay for. I will not be coming back after the way I saw this man speak to the front desk lady. I’ve stayed here multiple times with my husband but what I witnessed today was disgusting. This older white man who works here. He had uniform on and spoke to the front desk girl disgustingly. I can tell the younger girl working the front desk is young I’ve seen her a couple times. Very sweet kind girl. He spoke to her very rudely. That to me isn’t right. It’s not the first time I’ve seen this man speak or act rudely. After what I witnessed this place needs to get this man in line and teach him how to speak properly and have respect for younger girls. If she was my daughter I would fix him right up. Not okay behavior and will never stay at this hotel again. I will be letting the management know.”

“I checked in, surveyed the bathroom and bedroom, and immediately canceled my reservation. The bathroom shower was growing mold all throughout the corners of the shower stall. Upon checking the mattress for bed bugs I found that the mattress itself was stained numerous shades of yellow and red. The room was dingy and dark with wooden furniture that looks like it has taken a beating. On top of that my room definitely smelled like someone had smoked in it.”
