Went for our honeymoon and made this known to them but nothing was done to make it feel a little extra special, as other hotels that were less than 5 stars did. You are charged a daily fee for using the pool which was off putting, as the nightly cost is already high. The bar food was really delicious, better than the restaurant food menu. Great place to relax but felt like something was missing service wise. It was great having a gym on site.”

However, Booking gave you the opportunity to ask for a refund because it was only booked for in 4 months. There was no response to Booking's request. So the hotel was contacted by us several times. There was never an answer. The lack of a refund is not a problem, but not receiving a response is rude. An answer that a refund was not possible would have been enough for us. We are very dissatisfied with the lack of communication.”

“A truly memorable experience! The setting and ambience of the room had a truly royal atmosphere, and apparently is, in fact, a former residence of a King's wife from 3-400 years ago. Gold Leaf and plaster abound. The food is exquisite and inventive as well as fabulous. Each dish was potent in flavor and well-executed and thought out with sublime intention. We did the 3 course, but i feel as if we may have had 10 courses or more including all the extras in-between and after. The service was just as good, if not better. Not stuffy or pretentious, but quite hilarious and genuine, our Waiter and the Sommelier were just as much a part of the experience for me and my friends as the food. I never write reviews, but this was truly deserving!It was not an inexpensive meal, but was one of the few that was truly worth every penny. I would give more stars if i could! The staff at the hotel and restaurant were very friendly and accommodating for our kids. The family room was perfect for us, although there is a steep staircase to the second bed/bath. Given the season, we didn't get to utilize the pool and other outdoor facilities. Overall, I'd definitely recommend if you're in the area for a few days.”

However, not so much was put into the room itself. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. Below are some pros & cons. Pros: 1) Location. Close to port, major shops, & restaurants 2) Large room with tall ceiling 3) Public parking available across from hotel (although it gets really full) 4) Quiet room Cons: 1) Rooms are not 5 star quality - there were stains on carpet, calcified shower head, no conditioner, not the usual 5 star body/hair care brands/products 2) bed was two full pushed together. Not comfortable when you have two young children in bed with you and the beds split apart. 3) Uncomfortable pillows and not best quality bedding sheets. Not quality of a 5 star hotel. 4) No minibar or snacks in room”

And comfortable. - There is a tower heating in the bathroom, super handy! - Mosquito net on all windows, can sleep with open window to feel the wind, AC wasn’t necessary. (AC is Fujitsu, and TV is Toshiba, good brands) - Kettle in the room - Clean, deep swimming pool - The restaurant building (authentic style) has a lounge to play chess Cons: - We found one used sock(pantie?) under the bed - The sitting area in reception and restrooms are full of dirts and spider nets - Could hear motorbikes noise from the road in the room - Commercial/ unauthentic toilette products (made in Germany?!) will hope to have Provence soap instead. Also those small bottles are not “sustainable” as the hotel categories itself - Small packages of commercial brand marmalade on breakfast table, will wish to have some artisan ones from the region instead.”
