“Very clean hotel with a bit of a fancy ambience. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, bathrooms were clean and modern. A subtle but very appreciated touch was the full sized pump hand/body soap in the bathroom and shower (as opposed to the cheap bar soaps that no one likes). There's also a restaurant and bar on the first floor of the hotel. The hotel is located right in downtown Portland, with easy access to plenty of restaurants, bars, and other attractions. My wife and I walked a few miles and had no problem getting to places without a car. Only downside would be the required valet parking that is $40 per day - there's no self-parking for hotel.”

“I love this hotel, have stayed here a dozen times probably. Unfortunately this time around was overrun with a kids hockey team that seemed to spend the entirety of their weekend running amok in the hallway. 20+ preteen kids banging on our door saying they’re the FBI, running up and down the hall throwing footballs, blocking the door when I’m trying to get in the room, etc. Parents nowhere to be found and didn’t seem to care about anyone else this, it’s amazing that parents were actually present. We all know if these were college kids/adults causing half this much mayhem they would’ve gotten booted in an instant. We got fed up with the constant issues and called the front desk, the woman said she could hear the kids THROUGH THE PHONE despite me sitting in the furthest corner from the hallway. They eventually (second day of this) offered to give us a room on a different floor but the damage was done. Lost sleep and frustration definitely soured the entire stay and wasted precious moments of time figuring out a solution. Our second room was what we should have been given the first time. The staff explained typically they contain teams to one entire floor to separate other guests but had made a mistake in putting us on that floor. A mistake indeed, as now we’re out $400 just to have our whole trip fell apart because we got two hours of sleep our first night. Despite all this… room are very clean, facilities are nice, the window ledges are big enough to sit on to enjoy the lovely views, close to lots of great things to do, and the breakfast was decent. I really wanted this to be a great review…”

“I chose this hotel based on the suites and being dog friendly. Exceeded my expectations by a mile! Super friendly staff, great location (right out the front is excellent dog walking by the water) suite was one of the largest I have been in for some time. Also a plus hardwood floors (no allergy inducing carpets). Prices very reasonable for this level of a room. Also, great shuttle service provided by the hotel in the afternoon, driver Randy is the best! Also valet parking is the way to go. This is the place to stay in Portland!”

“I have spent the summer traveling and, whenever possible, stay at a Hilton-brand property. Due to this, I don't normally write reviews - unless they are notably great - because brands are about consistency. You hope you know what to expect. This hotel in Freeport, though, prompted me to share some thoughts. The people who work there truly care about what they are doing. At every point, we met people who were friendly, considerate, and genuine. This was the highlight. Our room was spotless. It was worth a few extra dollars to get a suite for a two-night stay. Finally, the location is great. It is just a short walk away from LL Bean and all the other shopping and restaurants. It was exactly what we wanted. Check it out if you want a comfortable stay where you will feel welcomed as a guest.”

“Beautiful location. Easy parking. Amazing food! The room was huge (king loft) and offered everything you’d need for a longer stay and the bed was SO comfortable. It just feels tired for the price point and for being an iPrefer hotel. Our phone didn’t work (so we had to go to the lobby to order food each time), the carpet was buckling and had tears and rips everywhere, the face plate fell off the light switch, the heated tiles didn’t work, and it’s VERY loud-you hear every door slam and the doors are so heavy it’s impossible for them not to slam (just add a slow close feature 🤷🏼‍♀️) unless you wait with the door. The front desk the night we arrived seemed generally uninterested and not surprised by our room issues, which was also a miss for this type of stay. We love that it’s pet friendly but it’s definitely more family friendly than we cared for (not everyone thinks a kid dribbling a basketball outside everyone’s windows at 9 AM is cute…). We do think it’s worth trying again and we’ll probably do so in a different room type now that we have a better idea what to expect. Just know it’s a great spot for the area but also due for a bit of an update-both staff and decor.”

“We booked this hotel originally because we got a great deal we typically stick to Hyatt. That being said, we were incredibly impressed with this hotel. It has been recently updated, and far exceeds it's competition price wise in my opinion. The rooms were very nice and clean. The breakfast was better than any other hotel in this category we've stayed at by a mile. There seemed to be a far more diverse buffet than most hotels offer. We also had a room on the corner of the 4th floor, there was some aviation noise, which we enjoyed. We would definitely stay here again.”

Her greeting was impeccable. *I didn't stay there, but it was being professionally operated at the time and date specified and I would eagerly stay at this unit. Great job! “Note: This review is only for the restaurant. The dining room manager needs to chill. Scolding your staff on the dining room floor is MUCH more embarrassing than a tray being left out. We went for Sunday lunch, the manager was making snide, unnecessary comments and scolding his staff. Our food took nearly 2 hours to come out and everything was very cold. However I will say the clam chowder was some of the best I ever had. The drinks and the rest of the staff were great as well.”
